Question about Samsung Digimax D53 Digital Camera

Can not get pictures to computer

When I go to hook up my camera to down load pics to computer, my camera shuts down (lens closes) but the camers screen is dark(but not off) and does nothing else. To get camera to work again I have to remove batteries and put back in. My camera also freezes and I have to do the same thing. This has just started.

Re: can not get pictures to computer

I would suggest using a card reader. It saves on camera batteries and they download faster too.

I bought canon sx30is from us two mnths back now problem has occured in my camera wen i start it gives lens error &shut down msg on camera comes lens eror camers shut down automatically restart...

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or the battery ran down with the lens extended ...
Here are some troubleshooting steps that you can try that may (or may not) correct it. They only seem to work for less than 40% of the lens errors, but if the camera is out of warranty (or repair cost approaches that of the camera), they're worth that try. Some of the later steps do involve some risk to the camera, so carefully weigh your options before deciding to conduct them.

I get a system error when i plug the cameral into usb/computer and try to download pics, camera actss like it will comply then promptly shuts down. takes great pics. all functions seem ok but downloading.

Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

Pictures wont down load

If the camera software is loaded and you are connecting the camera to computer.
Remove the softwaree and.
Windows will see the camers as a removable memory device in my computer an put up the scanner camera wizard.
This may reveal more.
You may also have inadvertantly deleted stuff
install it to recover any deleted images.
Also try the camera and card in another computer.

Lens problem

I have had the same problem with a different camera, the problem started when I did not have sufficient battery charge to turn the camera off completely. The camera shut down, but the lense did not retract.
You can try a few things:
First try remove the batteries and holding the power button as if you are going to start the camera, then reinsert and try again. (make sure they are fully charged first)
You can try connecting the camer to the computer before you turn it on. Connected to the computer the camer goes through a slightly different start up procedure.
Try switching it to playback mode on restart.
If these fail I have a couple of tricks up my sleeve, but need to know the answer to these questions:
1. has it suffered water damage?
2. has it been dropped recently?
3. what happend when the lense did not close properly? Is this the first time?
4. Can you access the menus when "restart camera" is on screen?
Just post a comment back

Hey dramaqueen79,
It sounds like you have internal damage to the camera. I would have it looked at be an authorized service center. If you are fine with the performance of the camera and all you want to do is be able to upload your images you could purchase a card reader(for an xd memory card) that connects to a usb port, and upload your images directly to your computer with the card reader.

Go Ahead. Use Us.

I have pc with vista ultimate 64 bit edition but i cant get it to rcognise my vivicam 7100s to transfer pics to pc

Your best bet would be to buy a cheap SD card reader and use that to transfer pics. Your camera probably is not supported by windows vista. (let alone vista x64)

Zoombrowser says 'No camera found' whenever I try to take pics off camera

Why not use a card reader?
Save battery life and its faster. When I hook the reader with a card in it using Windows XP it'll put up a window asking to download using Zoom Brouser.Or you can go to Zoom first and download straight from it.
Or go to My Computer and send them to where you want them to be saved.

Lens error Help please

The Lens Error usually means the lens has sand or another obstruction stopping it from retracting.
