I have a mitsubishi hc1500, i ordered a replacement bulb and it worked fine and suddenly while watching tv the bulb burst. the bulb still being under warranty, was replaced by the company i bought it from, i replaced the bulb and reset the timer and now the projector will try to power up for maybe a tenth of a second and the power and status lights begin to indicate an abnormal pattern. what do i have to do or replace without sending it to get repaired?

SOURCE: We recently replaced the bulb

IF you did not reset the lamp counter, the unit will shutdown. To reset, press the left and right arrows along with the power button for at least 3 seconds. That will reset the timer. Update this if that does not resolve the problem.

SOURCE: replaced bulb yesterday worked fine.

green green is power on, normal
then it tries to light the lamp, but it can't so the protection circuit comes activated.
you get red and green blinking

Then it goes to standby, red and off.

so something has happened to the lamp, or lamp ballast power supply.
Take the lamp out and check if all is OK with the 2 terminals in the connector, and the leads to the lamp are intact.

Failing that, I would suspect the ballast lamp power unit

Hc1500 projector will not turn on

Sounds like the lamp. The only way to really check it is to either put a new bulb in or put the old bulb in a different projector. Neither of which probably help you at this point. But, it does sound like the lamp is blown.

Hi, My hc1500 Is having a problem. When I turn it on it makes a clicking sound. Then the Lamp fails to light. The Light is green and the status is green, but soon after the projector shuts off the power...

The clicking sound is the high voltage power supply trying to
ignite the gas in the lamp. The lamp is not firing and coming on.
Check the bulb/ lamp life. Possible the lamp has exceeded its
useful life and may need to be replaced.

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

TV made popping sound and then shut off

You need to look in your owners manual for the telephone number and order a new bulb. It should cost about $200, but they will ship it overnight and minimize your downtime.

I've replaced 2 in my WD-52525 in the last 3 years, the first one went like yours did, very suddenly, with an audible POP!! The second one was preceded by an orange warning light, which the book says is a warning that the bulb has about 20 hours left on it.

To replace the bulb, UNPLUG THE TV, remove the left speaker screen, with a philips screw driver unscrew the bulb, pull it out by the handle, then replace it with the same type, in reverse order. This is a very easy replacement that does NOT need to be done by a service technician to complete.

Sound but no picture on my HD-52725 (slightly over 1 yr old). The TV menu DOES come up but other than that, it's just a blank screen. I replaced the lamp about 3 weeks ago. It was working fine yesterday...

The new bulb that went bad I purchased for less than $130.00 from http://www.Discount-Merchant.com/ . When I called them they immediatly sent me a new bulb free. Their number is 1-619-710-2637. A very good coumpany to do business with. They are also considering selling ballast for dlp TV's for around $200.00. The TV repair place that I have been going to told me that maybe the ballast made the bulb go out and it would cost between $600.00 and 800.00 to have them fix it. My TV is a Mitsubishi WD52725. dodger1
