Philips Model 7P5441C No Display

Recently, my projection TV (I'm not certain of the model number, as it is not with me), stopped having display after a power-surge from a thunderstorm. I suspected the flyback was at fault, so I replaced it-- Upon trying to power it up with the new flyback, there was still no display (Blinking power-light, those two relay clicks, all that deal), but the new flyback I put in would make a short, sharp squeal/whine for about 1 second, then it'd stop. What is likely the problem? Is it an error on my part in replacing the flyback, that I've made a bad connection-- Or is it something besides the flyback which is causing this problem? Thanks for any help!

Ironically, I have the Model number in the name, despite just having said I don't know the model number. There's the subconscious for ya'.

You say 'Would have been', is this not possible now that the flyback is replaced? And, if that's not the case, how much would such a board cost?

If you had only ask before changing flyback, this is problems on the deflection board, mostly all different parts bad from caps to zener diodes, the best bet would have been call PTS 18008447871 and asking for board(Deflection) the one with the flyback on it. Changing out board would have been your best bet.

No I'm only saying this to say it would have saved you money. Yes you can still call and find out price, I think it may be around 240-350 maybe just a guess, it depends on model and it most of the time have a DUD charge, meaning if you send yours in they will give you back 50 dollars. So try it if you like.

Iam having philips lct tv 32ta2800. the problem started with a whitish display while looking from sides then on the screen a small dash appeared with different colors even after turning off the tv the

If there is a USB reviever on the back or side of the TV you may need to try and update the firmware. Go to the manufactures web site search for your TV. You'll need to have the serial number and model number, which you can find on the back of the TV. Look for "equipment updates" then once you find it, download it to a usb and plug into your tv. There should be directions on their website. You could also call their technical support line, which can be found on the manufactures website.

Tv picture shrinks

This is a common problem on certain models of Philips Magnavox TV sets. The most common symptom is the screen will shrink and expand over and over. After the TV heats up for a while the video will work like normal. After a few weeks or months your TV will eventually stop working and not have video. I have a 60 '' philips tv model # 60pp9363/h17

I have worked on dozens of the DPTVXXX models recently all with audio but no video. In every set the HVG was the problem.

If you are not sure how to find/repair/replace the HVG youself goto to get their how to guide.

 Its an easy do-it-yourself fix.

Also, if you call in a repair tech - they will almost certainly want to sell you a new LSB board for $500.00+. The LSB board is where the HVG is located. Average cost for a replacement HVG is around 140.00 from vancebaldwin, partstore, etc.
