Bosch 2400E EC code

I have a recontioned Bosch 2400E water heater.
I keep getting EC code. The water heater will ignite , then shut off after a few seconds. This has been going on for about a year ,but I could push the reset button and it would kick on. Now it's hard to keep it going. Also, I can't change the temperture on the contol unit. Could the control unit be the trouble? Where can I get a control unit for the 2400E now that they changed to 2400ES ?

It sounds more like the gas valve, you can taje the numbers off of it call or e-mail the compant and buy a new one,,, the thermal coupling keeps the piliot lit but i don't get it RECONDITIONED, I have been doing plumbing for 34 years now and to get a water heater thats reconditioned it would probobly be cheaper to buy a new water heater with this kind of problem good luck

The 2400 does not have a pilot flame it has 2 electrodes that creates sparks to ignite the gas for ionization.

I have had a Bosch tankless heater now for 8 years I love it!, it is a little slower to get hot water but minimal issue worth the saving on my gas!, for me the only issue is that I need to do is clean the screen on the water inlet since it will stop firing at times or will cut off if to much hot water is needed(this is the sign for me that I need to clean it) (I have well water)

Sounds like they sent you the piece of **** unit I bought new. After I spent a fortune on service calls to fix this piece of sh_t, they finally agreed to send me a new one. Now, the new one after a year of no problems (other than being noisy at start up, but hey, after having to get out of bed EVERY MORNING in January at 5:00am to hit a g-damn reset button by crawling into my crawlspace on the old one) is having the same issue. Oh, by the way did I mention my electric bill went down$40/month but my propane bill went up $60/month? AND IT TAKES EONS TO GET ANY HOT WATER TO ANY FAUCET IN MY HOUSE? AND I'M USING A SH-TLOAD MORE WATER JUST TO GET IT HEATED?
EVERONE I KNOW WHO HAS INSTALLED AN ON DEMAND SYSTEM IS UNHAPPY. Seems like we've been had by the algore nitwits AGAIN!

I installed a little portable electric water heater fixed under the gas water heater with a little, low power consumption circulation pump that keeps the water going in a circuit. no matter which tap or appliance is using hot water, hot water is instant. I love it!

People often think it is EO, but it is EC. Depending on the age and instalation, ithe may be a very simple repair. EC is a failure to ignite.

See the distributor ,they should be able to supply the required regulator.
I have an earlier model Bosch tankless water heater. my instruction says mine can.
I would assume that yours should be also.
Good Luck.

I keep getting EC on the display, why does it keep doing this

EC - Ionization failure during operation
http://www.boschhotwater.com/HelpfulResources/TechnicalSupport/BoschAquaStarModels/2400ESTechSupport/Troubleshooting/tabid/1295/Default.aspx

Check gas type.
Check three wire connections to ignition group on the lower front of the heat exchanger are secure.
Check venting specifications are met. Improper venting may cause unstable burner flames and loss of flame ionization.
Check that the minimum power fan speed has been adjusted to the proper value.
Check gas pressure.
Check and adjust CO2 readings.

Our Bosch 2400E NG tankless water heater is displaying the EC code. I've checked the ionization electrode (rubbed it with a pencil eraser as instructed once before when we had this problem) and I also made...

Had same problem on my five year old water heater (ec error). Didn't figure it was a gas supply problem after five years but double checked to see if the gas bill was paid. It was.

Cleaned the contacts on the two sensors that are clamped to copper pipes inside. Still had error after powering up. Held the error button in for about five seconds, and the blinking EC code went away.

I have a 250SX aquastar Bosch tankless hot water heater . It keeps going out on EC code; whats wrong? Also I've been running the unit for about a 9 months without hooking up the condensate dain line.

The 250 MUST have the condensate line connected. EC comes from gas supply problems and CO2 levels not being adjusted. LP units require 3/4" smooth gas pipe or 1" corrugated pipe minimum size. The LP regulator needs to be turned up to about 13 inches of water column and with all the gas appliances on, measure no less than 11 inches of water column. The CO2 levels must be measured by a qualified gas technician with a calibrated (with in 6 months) CO2 analyzer.

I have a gas bosch water heater (2400E) that keeps shutting down and has to be reset. It shows code A3. What is this code? What do I do to correct this problem. Call the installer. I have had the unit...

you should contact the installer....4 months old should still be under their installation warranty. I looked at the site and it does not mention an A3 code...

BOSCH TWH-G1-25 not lighting

Model????? The 635Es, 250SX and 2400E are same. The 2400ES and 2700ES are World 2 heaters. Any error codes as I can't imagine this problem w/o codes. Flow initiated but you have spark. Is there any ignition? If so flame rod may be bad and not reporting ignition. Igniter sets on some early 2400/2700 have proved to be bad. Water pressure has zero to do with this. If you have an EC or EA code you have gas problems (meter, line size/length or gas valve). Also if 3005 or 3007 Software you can pull the last 5-10 error codes from Controller.
You need to call Bosch and get an RSA out there. This is a gas appliance that if you screw up can destroy your house. FYI any water in the gas valve condemns it. It will not dry out and work correctly. Is the fan running at ignition and/or purge? Any Controller errors require replacement. You have 2 years on parts warranty from installation date so don't screw around trying to DIY. Warranty Labor is not covered.
Flue obstruction? If you used the AQ3 installation Kit you have the wrong termination box to prevent freeze up and/or water penetration You need the Z-Vent drop nosed termination. Look for a fine tan dust in the fan intake (brown plastic) the intake throat or in passageway to the gas valve. Call Bosch unless you're a Gas Tech this is beyond you.
