Question about Sears Craftsman LiftMaster Chamberlain Garage Door Opener Wireless Keypad Model 976LM Security+

Garage door opener remote won't work

My Craftsman garage door opener works with the wall console, but not the remote. I found out the wall console was locked somehow, fixed that, but meanwhile I had changed batteries in both remotes. Now, neither remote works, only wall console. Tried to erase all codes, but didn't work. Any suggestions?

Hey! I have the same problem. My wall unit works, but the remotes, the outdoor keypad, and the button programed in my car all stopped working at the same time. I can't figure it out either. Tried resetting remotes, as well as changed batteries. :(

Meerkat1 your receiver has quit working which is part of the logic board. The logic board runs around $80.00 for the part alone. Might be time to get a new opener.

SOURCE: Garage door opener remote won't work

look for a smashed wire between the motor unit and the wall button.

If the wire is smashed the insulation becomes so thin that power will leak thru the insulation.

Loosen the staples with a small screwdriver and slide the wire about ½ inch to move any areas of thin insulation away from the staples.

The second thing would be a bad wall button or a remote with a sticking button.
Or a remote in someone’s purse that gets the button pushed by other stuff in the purse.

The test is to disconnect the push button wires at the power unit. If the interference stops you have located the problem. If you reconnect the wires and disconnect the wire at the wall button this will tell you if the problem is the wire or the button.

Make sure the green light in the wall control is not flashing. That locks out the remote. If it is press and hold for 3 seconds the lock button on the wall control. It could just be that your remote has failed.
