You need an ohm meter. This is probably a magnetron that is overheating. Sometimes a vent can get blocked by a curtain or something similar that gets pulled to the unit when the fan is running, or a bad or slow cooling fan can cause this or a bad magnetron. Be sure to short the high voltage capacitor before you do anything else in there. There should be a thermal fuse on or near the magnetron. Some units have a self resetting 'TCO' or thermal cut out. Some have a one time fuse. Some TCO's fail to reset after cycling a few times. These are usually a 'disc' type and are round , usually about the size (diameter) of a nickle and about 1/2" tall. Check for continuity, you should have zero ohms or resistance.
SOURCE: Microwave shut down while operating. No breaker
The most common reasons this model would shut down would be a blown 20A
ceramic line fuse, magnetron thermal fuse, or oven cavity
thermostat.
(If those are good, I would suspect the control panel
assembly, which we regularly repair such for customers nationwide by
mail for $39.95 postpaid in about a week or so with a one-year
guarantee)
There should be a "mini-manual" (tech sheet) hidden inside
the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the
grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting, testing, and
locating components.
At
our Web site, we have a video
available showing how to remove a typical
over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Accessing some components
(especially the oven cavity thermostat) for testing and possible
replacement will require you to remove the oven from the wall.
If so,
the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two
people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.
You can download Maytag
owner's manuals and installation instructions here.
You can find
helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full
model number from the tag on the oven here.

SOURCE: The microwave unexpectedly turns off at random
You could try a new plug just in case, next the fuse inside or thermal cut out could be @ fault, could be the cable transformer end as it enters the micro.....
Hi,
There is a dead short in side the microwave... this is causing the breaker to trip...however you should also replace the breaker to the microwave, as that should trip before the MCB...unless both are tripping at the same time...
