Sounds like you have a Float in the Carb has a hole in it or it is getting stuck open there is a needle valve that it pushes on when the bowl is full and it sounds like its not or something is stopping it,, did it have gas in it all winter? ,, I would buy a Carb kit for that model and change out all the parts that come in the kit and clean the carb

When you cleaned the carb did you clean out the metering jet with a needle and blow out. It only takes a tiny spec of dirt to raise hell with these small carbs.

It sounds like the carby is flooding badly. Check that the float needle in the carby is sealing properly. You need to remove the float bowl on the bottom of the carby and hold the float up with your finger and check that the fuel stops flowing out when you do this. Regards Phil

If it will start when you pour gas then its a fuel problem on some of these they have a screw at the bottom of the carb remove that and see if you have bad fuel. If that does not work then remove the carb and service it may just be a stuck float or something

Have gas in oil - will not start

Gas in oil is usually a symptom of flooding, caused by a stuck needle valve or damaged float in the carburetor. But 65 hours is awfully "young" for this problem.

LT 1000 flooding gas out muffler and stalls, then pours in carb.

Check your oil. Does it smell like gas? If so, don't run it even if you could. You will fry your engine. The float needle and seat in the carb are leaking. In other words, the float needle is not shutting off the gas when the bowl is full. You need to have them replaced.

Do you get a strong smell of gas. Check your oil and smell it to see if gas has gotten into the crankcase. It all is well there it sounds like you need to gap the valves.
