Re: floor model

If the IC your talking about has a designation number of IC601, the number is MX0841AB-F. Common regulator IC. Sony says that IC is no longer avaialable. You may get lucky and take out the entire G board and have, or repair the board for you. Good Luck

Rca model number r52wh73 wont power on at all

Hi John,

Here are some basic steps that will help you fixing the problem.

I'm assuming that your unit is dead set without an standby LED light and your outlet is live.1.Power cord - check the cord it might be opened (no continuity). This is due to frequent bending, pulling. 2. Power switch - check for dry joints, open contact. 3.Check the internal fuse- sometimes the fuse fail because of the power surge, replacing with new one will cure the problem, If this is the case I would advice you to use surge protector/AVR (Automatic Voltage Regulator). However if the fuse blew again this is an indication that you have a shorted parts in the power supply, you may visit the link for more info. If no reaction and still the unit didn't power up then you have an open parts on the power supply.

4.If you see that the fuse is intact , don't attempt to touch anything because there some fatalcomponents stored electricity enough to hurt you with a simple mistake only. I would advice you to look for a professional to troubleshoot the power supply. If you want to repair it yourself make sure that you have necessary tools and test instrument. First check bad solder joints(re-solder all cold solder), leaky electrolytic capacitor(sometimes it has bulged at the top but not all, you better have a capacitor checker), open/shorted regulator transistor/IC(mounted in heat sink), open fusible resistor (caused by shorted regulator Transistor/IC), shorted zener diode.

Also check if your unit is under warranty before opening the back panel, it will void the warranty. Avail it because the manufacturer of your unit will fix it for free or a little charge only.

Hope I helped you.

Have a nice day!

Mitsubishi VS50605 Ser# 101189 This unit does not have the Lg. DM module on the left of the main Bds.(2) It first stopped turning on with the remote then after a month or so stopped turning on...

I have read your first comment and you have said that there's some instances that the unit power up by repeatedly turning it on and off.
This kind of symptoms is an indication of out-of-regulation condition in the power supply section. It was caused by leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor in that section. It will dropped the supply voltage and will disable the unit. In the first stage of the symptoms, warm-up will make itself stable but it will get worst, time will come that the unit will not even power up at all like what you've experienced right now.
Leaky capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify like in this sample picture.
Dried electrolytic capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker/tester to determine its condition.
Check the filter electrolytic capacitor most especially in the supply line of the relay, and in the voltage regulator IC's circuitry.
Hope I helped you.

Blue screen no signal

You need to replace the surface mounted voltage regulator IC (small black square chip with a metal tab on one end, and two legs on the other end.) it is on the main board, right behind the signal input board. It's a BA09FP regulator IC, you can purchase this on

it requires a bit of disassembly, but it is relatively easy to do. it is component number IC9C25. It could be bad, or just have bad connections . This IC supplies 9 volts to the terminal board. Try resolding it first.

Power suplly

This model is famous for capacitors being bad in the low voltage regulators on the signal board. Also has been known for cold solder connections in the power supply to the convergence IC. I don't have my notes at home but I belive that model only uses one IC for convergence, STK393-570. You cant see it from the back because of it being hidden by its heat sink.

Tv won't turn on

Your problem could be the Convergence board is loading down the power supplies and will not let the TV set come on, or the power/deflection board, part number AA94-08574A, or the STR type regulator IC, part number AA13-00105A. If you locate the convergence board, unplug the connectors, and see if the set will come on. if the set does come on, replace both of the STK convergence IC's at once. The part numbers for those IC's are STK392-40. You can get the original replacement IC's from MCM electronics for about 15 to 16 bucks a piece. Do not use the less expensive STK IC's as they are not the same. the replacement IC's should have the name of SANYO printed right on the face of the IC's. Good Luck

No im sorry to say, not in the standby mode but in the shutdown mode. this could be from several things. like a bad regulator IC in the main supply, or a set of bad capacitors between the main power supply and the sweep power supply, or maybe a shorted audio output IC oer a shorted convergence IC or could even be because fluid leaked down onto the Printed circuit board, from the CRTs. If your not a tech Please call one as it not a place for someone to be tinkering around with! Please dont forget to rate this.

Your going to need to check the schematic and check the b+ going to the IC's as there maybe a bad capacitor. When the new IC's are installed it loads down the set or power supply. Its the bad power supply or the IC's are defective, but im thinking the power supply.

Tv struck by lightning

This set is pretty common for the regulator IC to go bad. Its inside on the power supply Printed circuit boad assy. It will start with STR#### and have 4 digits after the STR####, depending on the model of the set. Good Luck
