Yes, various softwares like the ones that usually come with the camera, or others like Pinnacle (cheap and functional) can let you see the video frame by frame and capture or save a frame separately as a photo - try right clicking on the frame you want. Of course programs like Adobe Premier are excellent for this too but very pricey. Unfortunately, if the snaps are part of the video, they will be low res and email quality only under normal circumstances. It may be printable up to 4x6 maximum usually (but a bit choppy). For the best results, switch the camera to photo mode and shoot to the memory card for the cameras best quality results. Or use a still camera. You can always do both or use the software to add photos to your video edits. Hope this helps...

I have a dcr-sr200 and have 7 hrs worth of video to burn that took about five hours. But when I check it the time date stamp did not appear. I can seem to figure it out . please help

I understand that you have burned the videos to a disc using Computer and the burned videos does not have the date and time on it. In order to get date and time on videos taken using the Hard Disk Camcorder, the video should transfer using A/V interface with the DATA CODE option on the Camcorder enabled.

Once you enable DATA CODE, the date and time will be shown when playing videos in the Camcorder. You can view when you connect the Camcorder directly to a TV. While using the A/V interface with Computer to capture videos using an Analog Video Capture Software like Windows Movie Maker, you will get the videos in Computer with date and time displayed. You can burn those videos using a burning software.

If you're using stand alone DVD Recorder, you can enable the DATA CODE and use the A/V interface to connect the Camcorder to the DVD Recorder to get the date and time on videos.

Thanks for understanding. Please let me know for clarifications. You can also give more information about the recording method you're using to give more specific instructions.

How do I tranfer video from my camcorder to my computer?

Hello there...

There is another way to transfer video from you camcorder if you camcorder support USB streaming. I usually use this method with my Sony Camcorder because more simple and don't need additional hardware.

Steps:
1) Install you camcorder driver to your PC/laptop.
2) Connect your camcorder to PC/laptop.
3) Open Windows Movie Maker.
4) Create a new project and select source input device to your camcorder.
5) Start record on your Windows Movie Maker application and press play on your camcorder.
6) Wait until camcorder finish playing and press stop in your WMM.
7) Save the file as WMV (later you can convert to another format using any video converter or even burn to CD)

PS: you can even edit the movie frame or add some opening text or end credit.

Hope this helps.... :D

I recorded my movies on the dw 100 but now i can't grt them to play on my dvd player

The DW-100 records discs based on the format they were originally recorded.

If your camera is recording HiDef videos than the discs this unit creates will be viewable on a Blu-ray disc player.

If your camera is recording in Standard Definition (ie. NOT HD) then I believe that the discs will work in regular or upconverting DVD players.

My Canon camcorder does not record in Standard Def so can't quite vouch for that last comment though.

How can i change the format that my "magix Photostory CD & DVD" program burns my pictures/music to a DVD that WILL play on a home DVD player and not just a computer? I have a Windows XP

There are three ways to create a Video CD (VCD) that contains your photo stories:
You can obtain Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in Photo Story 2 by going to Play your story or create a video CD of your story and then create a VCD.using the Photo Story 2 Video CD-burning feature.
• You can obtain Microsoft Digital Image Suite 10 or above and view the Photo Story 3-authored WMV file in the Photo Story that comes with the Digital Image Library and save and burn to VCD.
• You can obtain VCD-authoring products that work with Photo Story files, such as MyDVD by Sonic Solutions or InstantCD\DVD by Pinnacle Systems. You can use these software to convert the Windows Media video (WMV) files into files that can be copied to a DVD and played in a DVD player.
Note: VCD and DVD-authoring software is not included with Photo Story 3.

Downloading Video

Hi,

In order to burn a DVD you need to use the 1394 interface. If you use the USB interface then you have the option to only burn VCD. However, i could not even burn the VCD using the USB interface. It refuses to recognize that there is a new CD-R in the PC.

Can anyone help please?

Archiving Digital Camcorder Video - Ideal Formats

Let's try to bottomline this. If you want said DVD to play in most players, you'll be encoding the video according to standards. The current DVD is MPEG2. At the current time, most people just have DV camcorders so you don't see the generational loss as you move the video from DV to DVD. At least I don't.

I want some feedback for DVD Camcorders.

My non-authoritive answers are: 1. Can the DVD-R be played on the Camcorder without finalisation? I'll write no. This is based on one comment by an user plus numerous experiments with DVD+R, DVD+R/W and such formats. 2. Does the DVD-RW / DVD-RAM need a finalisation ? Can the DVD-RW / DVD-RAM be played back on the camcorder/DVD Players/Computers without finalisation ? Based on my experiments with DVD recording and the 3 DVD players I have in the lab, the answers are yes and no in that respective order. 3. Can the DVD-RAM be played in the camcorder and output recorded in a standard VCR Casette ? The media played in the camcorder but placing the media in the VCR doesn't work since it's a phyical media issue. 4. Can the DVD-RAM/DVD-RW be played in the camcorder and the output captured in a computer and then burnt back on the DVD-RAM/DVD-RW or Computer CD/VCD ? Sure, but my method skips the play and re-capture. The files on the media are just placed into the DVD creation software and a new DVD is recorded.
