Fan won't spin due to bracket broken

Upon opening the package the fan motor wouldn't spin, we got an air condition person to check it and he said that the bracket near the fan motor must have broken during shipping? I need a replacment bracket

I would try . You can usually find the bracket there. Or a universal retrofit. Good luck.

I have a 3 ton Payne heat pump package unit . The indoor fan motor has a built in capacitor. The fan motor will not turn, it just rocks back and forth making a beeping noise.

If the fan spins by hand (be careful as it may start spinning) i would suspect the capacitor, however the motor could be bad. If you have a dvm and know how to safely check the capacitor then do so.

Air condition motor not going on

check to see if the fan is running if not it has frozen up over the winter. turn off fuses to a/c unit then try to turn fan by hand,if not soak down fan bearings with penetrating oil like PB Blaster keepmoving fan blade back and forth until it spins freely. Then try turning on the power to a/c unit if motor then turns fan freely , shut it down again and use a good coat of a-1 motor oil (ELECTRICAL) on the fan brgs. This should get you through for another year or so. On the other hand if fan will not spin by the motor now but spins by hand then the fan motor is bad.

Amana BR22VL refrigerator section stopped cooling.

is there any frost on your food packages or on the ceiling where the light is?if so the door was left open and the air vents are froze up or you have a bad damper or evaporator fan motor, open the freezer door,do you hear the fan blowing?if so the fan motor is good, check for ice on the ceiling and packages,if that checks good look at the back inside wall of the freezer,if that's covered with like snow or frost you have a defrost problem or also you have a damper in your model,it's closed and won't open to let the cold air in from the freezer.
go here, this is the part, all that happens is the evaporator coil in the freezer gets cold, the evap fan blows the cold air from the freezer up into the fridge section,in your model the damper door opens to let the cold air in,when it gets cold enough the damper closes and that's it,so if the door wasn't left open and the fan is blowing in the freezer you have a bad damper.

Heating works fine...The air conditioning compresser out side comes on and the fan works..But the inside fan won't come on to push the cold air??

Good observations-- let's see if we can go a bit deeper now-

Yes-- You have to have the inside air fan working,-- in order to blow the COLD air at the coil-- into the room.
So-- Can you trace the wire back from the motor to a terminal block, or remove the terminal block cover, and measure some voltages?
Is the wire into the motor, reading line voltage (120Volts-- or 240 volts-- what is the plus that the unit is plugged int, supplying?)

No- Voltage-- No Fan!-
If you have voltage-- but no fan turning:
Is the shaft frozen?-- can you spin the blade wit your hand?

How old is the unit?-- and has the fan motor worked recently?

Help me help you get to the next trouble shooting point-
Mack B

My outside unit fan doesn't spin. i hear a clicking noise and a humming but the fan won't spin. i've tried to spin the fan and it spins freely by hand.

You may need a new start capacitor or fan motor.I would have the capacitor checked by a electrician and changed if needed. Good luck and thank you.

Is this a split or packaged sysyem? In a heat pump condensing unit or package unit the indoor fan motor may be delayed due to a timer or program. Otherwise you may have a weak capacitor or a bad motor. The air handler is generally a 230 v unit due to the heat strip operation, have you checked line voltage from the main breaker

The Fan on my a/c unit isnt turning. Whats wrong with my a/c unit?

check power supply, check supply circuit fuses, if all good trace wire to fan motor itself check for current, if voltage is present check ground circuit for open.. if all checks good fan motor is bad or fan blade splines are stripped cause motor shaft to spin without fan blade turning, have also seen where a pencil, paper clip debris has broken fan blades when people store stuff on top of dash board panel , debris falls into vent back into fan housing resulting in a broken fan blade... check all

Fan not spinning

either open motor or bad capacitor. if it is a bad capacitor you should be able to start fan by spinning it with a call for cooling. it it has tight resistance it is bad start windings if its free spinning it is open windings
