Question about Sanyo 42 in. LCD TV
While watching tv the screen goes black and no signal flashes on screen
I disconnect the fios cable from the back of the box and start up again and picture comes on. I spoke with Verizon today they tell me that the motorola box is incompatible with some tv's. I should contact you and ask for a firm ware update if thats available other wise they will provide a different type of cable hook up.
Have you heard of theis before and can you help me?
Thanks very much
the model # of tv is DP42746
When the TV is turned on, initially the picture is fine, then within minutes the screen goes bright green, but the audio is still present. Eventually the picture will return, but then will go out again and again. Replacing the HDMI cable with expensive component HD cables does fix the video display problem, but the quality isn't as good as HDMI. I'm very disappointed that the Verizon installer did not mention this when he connected my Sanyo HD TV.

Check your set up again. Mine says the HDMI/DVI is HDMI 1 (and then connect the audio to the video 3 audio input).
I need a magnifier to read the label on the TV. You just need the only HDMI input that has (DVI) in front of the word Input.
I hope this helps.

I have seen similar problems but not this specific one. I would say that 90% of the time the problems are caused by a dry joint (that is a soldered joint that is not connecting properly) on the power board. Dry joints almost always occur where there is heat, so the power board is the most likely culprit. Often inspection of the pins on the board under a magnifier will locate the joint.Your engineer if they cant find the problem should just replace the board to eliminate it as a cause of the problem, if it is under warranty.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.
I appreciate your vote if you appreciate my reply.

Hello, yes you should have no problem with picture quality the difference should be hardly noticeable. You should however buy good quality leads to make up for the lack of HDMI ( High Definition Multimedia Interface). If the Blue Ray only has HDMI output, you can get an adaptor from Tandys or similar. I hope that helps you.
