Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

Hi, As you recommended two days ago, I obtained and replaced the temperature sensors in both ovens of my JTP56AOW1AA. The ones you recommended/linked were exact copies of the original. When I turn on the power there is initially nothing on the display, after a few minutes all digits/letters start flashing. Then it goes back to its old display "locked door." It won't respond to "bake," or "Broil." When I try to start a clean cycle, I get "err" flashing. (Same on bottom oven). Any ideas? Thanks, John

That usually means that the door lock can also be damaged.

First ensure is not a setting problem, by tripping circuit breaker for five minutes , and using clear/cancel button.
The door lock can be tested using a multimeter.

Also control board and wiring to temp probe and element may have been damaged by the high temperatures produced on self cleaning cycle.

Unfortunately the oven does not return any error indicating the fault.

Door lock is tested by energizing , reading continuity to test solenoid and reading voltages.

Wires are tested by reading voltages.

Control board is tested by looking for blown capacitors or component, reading voltages, testing components for continuity.

If you DIY always observe strictly all safety rules., all repairs must be done by a competent repairer.

Jenn-Air Oven 4D22 Fan Error

I was troubleshooting one of these error codes on a Jenn-Air oven and followed all the repair recommendations. Most service techs recommend replacing the fan, speed sensor and making sure everything is clean. I did all this and it made no difference. After a bit more troubleshooting I found the temperature sensor to be bad. I replaced the temperature sensor and the fan fault code disappeared and the oven worked normally.

The fan that comes on when the oven reaces a certain temp will not turn off. The entire front panel was replaced about 1 year ago.

Shorted or open oven temperature sensor (RTD) Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.
OR
Oven temperature too hot Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness

What the code f3 mean my stove model # is 911.9584991

Hi,

This model ( Kenmore ) has been built by Roper ( 911 - First 3 digits tell you the manufacturer's name ).

F3 refers to Oven temperature sensor open.

You need to check the oven temperature sensor. The value of oven temperature sensor should be around 1100 ohms at room temperature. In case, it is too high or low, you need to replace that.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

Jenn-air dbl oven WW30430B. Lower oven doesn't work anymore. Try to pre-heat - get F2 message. This started a year ago. Shortly after onset we had a hurricane and were without power for 2 days. When power...

HI. the oven control will interrupt normal actions if it senses an abnormal oven temperature. this can be caused by a faulty RTD(temp sensor), and, also, a faulty relay board if present.

Replace relay board, if present, or oven temperature sensor (RTD). Check sensor harness to make sure it is in good condition.

I have a Jenn-air model # JGS8850ADS. An F3 - 1 came up. The temperature sensor was changed and it happened again on the same day that it was changed

hi there,

this is an overtemperature error that happens during self-clean. i would recommend ohming out the sensor and the harness and if they check out okay, replace the oven control itself.
