SOURCE: GE Adorda dishwasher

This one is a known issue and an easy fix. Use a tie wrap to securely tie the water tube for the middle spray to the upper basket. That's it. Believe it or not, it's that simple. You may want to secure it at the front and the back. To test this you can use the tie wraps used to closed the plastic grocery or bread bags. If this solves the problem you can buy a bag of nylon tie wraps from any hardware store. I had a similar problem with another GE model with a similar problem. The dishwahser used to make a horrible grinding noise during the wash cycle. One I secured the middle sprayer arm the grinding noise went away.

SOURCE: Dishwasher won't drain?

HI. check the following areas for fualts.

1. Air gap / Drain hoses
If there is an air gap (located in the sink, near the faucet), check to see if it is clogged. Unscrew the top cap and see if there is anything blocking inside. Note: If there is no air gap installed, the dishwasher might not drain properly.

If the drain hose is clogged, the dishwasher would not drain. If there is an air gap installed, it is very common that a hose going from the air gap into the garbage disposer is clogged. Remove and clean the hose. Make sure to reattach the hose before starting the dishwasher.

Note: If you recently had a garbage disposer installed, it is common to overlook removing the drain plug.

2. Broken belt
Some dishwasher models use a belt to drive the pump. Replace the belt if found broken.

Note: Sometimes the belt would just come off the pump. Even though it might not be broken, it is recommended that you replace the belt, because it is probably too stretched out.

3. Pump
Some models have two impellers inside the pump - one, wash impeller, takes care of the wash cycles, the other, drain impeller, drains the water out. If the drain impeller is broken (broken blades, shaft), the dishwasher would not drain. Replace any broken pump components.

4. Drain solenoid
Some models (for example most GE dishwashers) use a drain solenoid to drain water out. Sometimes the solenoid gets stuck, preventing the water from draining out. Try to free up the solenoid. If unsuccessful, you might have to replace the pump assembly.

5. Motor
If the motor is stuck, it is sometimes possible to free it up by manually spinning the motor.

Replace the motor if defective.

6. Timer
Replace if defective (note: uncommon problem).

Sounds like the water inlet valve isn't working. Check your house water pressure and make sure it's not above 80 psi. If it isn't, then call a repair company that handles GE warranty work.

Kitchenaid dishwasher wont drain

1
Allow the current cycle to complete. Draining will occur at the end of the cycle.
2
Close and latch the door. The dishwasher will not drain if the door is not properly secured.
Press the "Cancel/Drain" button on the dishwasher to start a two-minute drain cycle.
4
Remove the knockout plug in the disposer outlet of the garbage disposal if the dishwasher drains into the disposal. Turn off the water supply and remove the drain hose from the disposal. Place the tip of a screwdriver on the plug and tap it lightly with a hammer to remove it. Replace the drain hose and turn the water supply on.
Clogged Drain
5
Run the garbage disposal to empty it and clear the drain if the dishwasher drains into the disposal.
6
Remove the cover on the air gap on the sink or countertop. Turn the plastic cap counterclockwise to remove it. Remove soil from the inside of the air gap. Replace the plastic cap and cover.
7
Check the sink. Dishwashers connected to a sink will not drain if the sink drain is clogged. Unclog the sink. Contact a plumber, if needed.
Issues With the Drain Hose
8
Check to see if there is a loop in the drain hose. The loop cannot be more than 20 inches above the floor. Disconnect the hose and loop it just above the floor. Reconnect the drain hose.
9
Remove kinks in the drain hose. Always use the new drain hose included with the dishwasher. Do not reuse old hoses.
10
Check the length of the drain hose. The hose should be less than 12 feet long. Replace with a shorter hose, if needed.

MY GE DISHWASHER IS CONNECTED AND RUNNING, UNIT HA...

hi just try this Is the door open or unlatched?
Make sure the door is completely closed and latched.
Was the selected cycle interrupted before completing?
The Clean light will come on when the cycle is complete. Wait until the Clean light comes on before trying to manually drain dishwasher. Press Cancel/Drain to try and drain the standing water.
Is the water level just covering the pump module?
This is normal. A small amount of water will be seen in the bottom of the sump area at the base of the pump. This is to ensure that the pump seal does not dry out.
Is the dishwasher drain hose connected to a garbage disposal?
For many dishwashers, the drain hose is connected to the disposal and the knockout plug must be removed from the disposer inlet.
Is the drain system blocked?
Run the disposer to clear the drain system.
Do you have an air gap at your sink?
Check to see if the air gap is blocked by foreign material. To clean the drain air gap, follow the cleaning instructions provided by the manufacturer. With most types, you lift off the chrome cover, unscrew the plastic cap, and then check for any soil buildup. Clean if necessary.
Is there a loop in the drain hose less than 20" (50.8 cm) above the floor?
Make sure the drain hose is looped up so that it touches the underside of the counter before connecting to the sink drain or disposer.
Is there a kink in the drain hose?
Replace a kinked drain hose.
Did you reuse an existing drain hose?
Make sure to use the new drain hose that came with the dishwasher.
Is the sink drain clogged?
If the sink is not draining well, a plumber may need to be contacted. Most dishwashers connect to the sink drain. If the sink drain is clogged, the dishwasher can't pump out water.
Is the drain hose too long?
If the supplied drain hose was replaced with a longer one it must be shorter than 12' (3.7m).

GE Triton XL Dishwasher

It's normal for a little water not to drain. However, many times it's that the drain hose isn't looped up high enough under the sink and water is draining back from the sink or disposer drain- into the dishwasher. If there's a disposer, be sure to run it once in a while, a good time is when the dishwasher drains. The hot water and detergent keep the unit clean, and draining correctly.
