Hello, It sounds like there is a problem with the electrical portion of the tiller. Once the internal coil heats up it looses the power to keep the engine running. The other option is the muffler that is overheating the carburetor to the point that it boils the gas before it gets to the engine. A lot of the older B.&S. engines used a two piece muffler with a screen inside that would get plugged up causing excessive heat to the carburetor. Good Luck, RAC

The Guest's problem is quite different. You should have throtlle cable coming down below the carburetor on the side of the B.&S. engine. Not knowing which type of govenor you have on the engine, early models had a metal plate that was controlled by the cooling air of the engine and later models had a mechanical govenor built into the side of the engine. Is sounds like the govenor is stuck at full throttle for one thing and the engine is running out of gas because it can't flow enough fuel to the motor. This type of problem can also be caused by a loose carburetor causing a vaccum leak or bad gaskets on the carburetor. I would rebuild the carburetor and insure all ports are clean and flowing, including the small screens on the bottom ot the fuel tubes, replace carb gaskets and check the carb. insulator to make sure it is not cracked also. While it is apart check the throttle linkage elements to insure they are free before reassembling the carb. back on the engine. Good Luck, RAC

My 95 ford f150 runs great till it warms up it seems then the fuel pump looses power n shuts down wait few mins kicks back on runs fine till few min later

Sounds like your ignition module it is common on fords to do this when its cool it will start and run fine but once it heats up the truck dies until you let it cool down again and then your up and running till it heats up again. Some modules are mounted on the fender others are mounted with the distributor have it checked and let me know how it went.

Check the breather in the fuel cap, run it with the cap loose and see if it is any better.

I had the same problem. Turns out,( and I didn't believe it when I was told) but, my problem turned out to be cheap (inferiour) plugs and wired. I was reccomended to use NKG plugs and Borg-Warner wires.

Mantis 4 cycle (brand new): oil leaking out, smoking soaking air cleaner, quits running..

Sounds like your gas tank is not breathing properly. try this: the next time you run the tiller and it begins to stall out, try loosening the gas cap. It should start running again. This means that the gas cap is clogged. Unclog it or purchase another one.

When you let it sit did you remove all the fuel or add a additive? If you did not then I would recommend that you remove all the fuel and add brand new fuel to your system. Gasoline only last for about 3 to 4 months before it will start to go bad and this sounds like your problem
