Yes there is an oil pump. Behind the flywheel is a gear driven oil pump on that saw.

Same for me. Take chain off and ensure clean oil hole and channel. Clean hole if needed with fine wire or heavy nylon line. otherwise I think problem is interior, either oiler itself or oiler oil tube came loose. Since I have no excess oil coming out I suppose oiler iself is bad.Still working on it.

Tightening the chain

Fuel ratio is 40:1 using modern chain saw oil--not any petroleum base oil like boat motor oil. Be sure to premix fuel and oil in it's own container and to shake vigorously just before filling the saw each time. To remove the chain, loosen the chain adjustment screw several turns CCW, release the chain brake, and remove the side nuts that hold the rear chain cover. The cover will just pull off, then the bar can be pulled rearward somewhat and the chain worked off of the bar. Remove the bar by pulling it outward. Clean the entire area where the bar and chain fit to the engine, then clean the bar oil ports that run from the larger holes out to the chain groove on each side of the bar. Start the engine with bar/chain removed--oil should ooze out of the side port where the bar fits to. If ok, and the chain appears to be relatively unworn, refit everything in the reverse order of removal, making sure that the chain teeth cut toward you on the bottom run, and the chain adjustment tang drops into one of the large oil holes when replacing the cover. Tighten the mounting nuts only finger tight, and adjust the chain screw CW until the chain ceases to droop from the lower side of the bar, yet not so tight that it can't be turned by hand. Tighten the mounting nuts firmly and recheck the chain tension. If ok, and the engine runs well, start the machine and hold the bar tip near some cardboard while running at speed for several moments--it should throw off a thin line of oil onto the cardboard. Use common chain/bar oil available from home centers, hardware stores and saw dealers. Make sure the chain is properly file sharpened. Hope this helps!

No bar oil is coming out. Emptied oil resevoir and blew air from compressor back through from oil outlet and still nothing. What could be the problem?

Normally, there are valves in the oil circuit that prevent oil/air movement in the reverse direction. There is usually an oil filter on the line inside the tank that occasionally will plug up. Remove same and check. An oil line can go bad as well as the oil pump. Some brands of saw use a plastic gear for the pump and the gear can strip it's teeth--check for same. When checking for oil flow, remove the bar and chain--look for oil to ooze out of a port on the engine case where the bar fits to. If ok, then clean the oil passages in the bar end, especially the two small passages that go to the chain groove on both sides of the bar. Finally, with everything together, run the saw at speed with the bar tip near a piece of cardboard for a few moments--it should throw off a thin line of oil on the cardboard. Hope this helps!

How does the oil pump work? What drives it?

Most saws today have pumps that are driven by the chain sprocket/clutch. Some may operate from the crankshaft on the clutch side. Some older designed saws operate from vacuum/pressure from the crankcase, ie. Homelite XL, STIHL 009, McColluch Mini-Mac.

Most older chainsaw adjustments are visible when the saw is viewed from the end of the bar back to the saw. More modern ones are near the bar nuts (side). Lou

a fix that sometimes works is to add kerosene to oil tank where the oil would go normally and rev saw several times with out load holding blade in down position over a piece of dry card board so you can see the oil spraying on the piece of cardboard careful of moving chain
