GE Profile Dishwasher PDW7300 Died on me!

My GE Profile Dishwasher PDW7300J10BB Just stopped mid-cycle the other night. Now it doesn't light up, start, beep or anything. I've already reset the breaker in the basement to no avail. What next? Is there an internal fuse or switch I can reset? Please help. Thanks! :-)

Thanks for the pointer on the arcing. Funny thing is .. I did the electrical myself and I always make sure things are tight and connected properly. Was a little shocked to see the melted wires and caps. I soldered them this time .. if it happens again it was not arcing. Im going to check with GE and see if there was a recall or not. The wires to the washer seem a little too high gauge to me.

Turns out the folks who installed it did a shoddy job of connecting the power. The power connections were not twisted on tightly enough, and after time, the continuous arcs of current between the loose connections burned through the wire nuts and finally separated the poorly twisted electrical wires. SOLUTION: Turned off power to the dishwasher, chopped off old, burned up wire ends, stripped some insulation off, twisted/spliced the electrical wires back toghether TIGHTLY and then tightly closed it all with quality wire-nuts. Power came right back on! :-) Yay! The only problem is, since the washer had been sitting/dead for a week or two, the lubricating water on the motor's ceramic bearing dried up, causing the motor to seize up. Had to replace the motor. :-( But everything is working fine now!

Try pressing the "Start/Reset" pad hold it for 5 seconds to reset the dishwasher and wait 2 minutes. If the problem persists, reset (reboot) the dishwasher by turning off power to the unit at the house circuit breaker/fuse box for 30 seconds. Or if its pluged in below the sink like mine unplug and plug back in. Restore power and the dishwasher should function normally.
