WATER PUDDLE ON FLOOR

My garage fridge is leaking. Is is a GE, 162D7991G051, a backup fridge that has been in my garage for several years. The icemaker does not work, although I am not sure if that is because the line is not hooked to a water supply. This is not the issue; the water puddle in front of the fridge is! I think the guy who set it up in my garage had the long plastic line in back of fridge taped to the back somehow. Is this the line from the icemaker? If so, could the leak be caused by the fact that the line is now lying on the floor and not connected to anything? I do not see any water anywhere behind the fridge, underneath the fridge, nor any leak inside, or around seals. Where could the water be coming from? I can shake a little water out of the plastic tubing.I just don't know what, if anything, I should do with the excess tubing that is just lying on the floor behind the fridge.

My fridge has also been leaking but it's coming somewhere from the inside of the refrigerator. I only know because all of my food is wet. But that's so weird that there's no water beneath or behind your fridge. I bet that a professional would be able to find the leak fast, though, since they have probably seen a lot more leaky fridges than the both of us.http://www.bringerappliancerepair.com/lo...

Kenmore coldspot model 106 53532300 leaking on the floor, freezer side.

Hi,

please double check that your freezer door is closing properly. You can also pull the fridge out and check whether the water is coming from the back of the of the fridge. If not, then that means there's a leak under the fridge and if that's the case you'll need to schedule a diagnostic on the fridge. You might reach out to Kenmore over the phone directly to ask them to send you a technician for this.

Thank you.

I have a 10 year old GE Monogram refrig. We noticed a small puddle of oily liquid on floor beneath freezer door. It is accumulating about 1 tsp/day.

certain amount of oil is in the compressor motor casing to stop it burning out
it is under the same pressure as the refrigerant

I would say the oil comes from that casing
you could turn the fridge off at the wall
bring the fridge out to get behind it
and degrease the area to see if the leak is severe

if it is..... needs a fridge technician

not sure
check if cost of replacing the motor compressor unit
on a ten year old ge
might be more that fridge is worth

Why does my double doors/GE/culligan refrigerator leak water at night

there will be a drain at the back of the fridge down the bottom there is probably something caught in it blocking it causing the water from the evaporator in the fridge to run out instead of down the drain

GE Profile leaking onto floor

Clean the drain pan and drain line in the back of the freezer section behind the cover underneath the evaporator coil. (hint: use turkey baster with hot water) Make sure water drains when you pour it in. If it doesn't - also clean drain tube on the back of the unit behind the cover. When done - put the tube exactly where it was.
Good luck! :)

Model # TBX18TRBR large puddling leak on floor, think has to do with defroster messing up?? A GE refrigator serial # HG539639

I've got the same fridge with the same problem (believe it or not it was manufactured in 1992 so it's a wonder it's still working).

I also have been able to narrow the problem down to a defrost issue. It appears as the coils are defrosted, the leaking water drains down through the inside of the fridge, pools in the bottom of the fridge (under the bottom drawers), then when that area is full it runs out onto the floor.

I'm still troubleshooting and will post back here within a week with my results.

Water leaking - GE Profile Refrigerator, Model: TPX21PRX

Check to see if the drain at the bottom of your freezer is plugged. When the refrigerator goes on defrost, the water has to go somewhere. Look below the coils in the freezer section and see if there is ice in the drain.
