SOURCE: I am looking for a manual for a mongoose tech 4 mountain bike
The brakes should have a label on them so you can find their website. Most of the good manufacturers have directions on their sites for adjusting their products. The bike I looked at had V brakes. http://www.sheldonbrown.com/canti-direct.html is the site to look at. Great pictures and good explanations.
SOURCE: loose handlebars on a Mongoose XR-75 mountain bike
Check the splines on the handle bar. Just loosen the "clamp" and slide the bar over to one side enough so you can tell if the are stripped or not. If they are then replace the bar, if not then reassemble and try to put a littlle extra torque on the bolt.
I have noticed with the 2 of these bikes that I have that the bars do not like to stay tight for long, they tend to work thier way loose about every other time we use them. I just keep tightening them untill the splines strip, then pick up a new bar.
Contact Mongoose for parts info at: www.Mongoose.com under "about" click ask mongoose.
Good luck.
SOURCE: freewheel spins both ways cant peddle no were how
The freewheel has a ratchet pawl (an internal, spring loaded lever) that would normally engage gear teeth in one direction and click over them in the other direction. This is just like the action of a ratchet wrench. You might have a broken spring or broken pawl - in which case you will have to replace the freewheel---- Or it might just be dirty. Spray some WD 40 inside it (spray through the small gap between the round part that moves and the round part that doesn't. If that doesn't work, you'll have to replace it.
SOURCE: i have a mongoose rockadile
i have never fixed this bike but normally there is an allen wrench bolt right on top of the shaft you have to loosen it (not take it out there is a tightening nut at the other end of the that you want to stay on) then after it is lose you should be able to adjust it but if not you will have to loosen or take of the first bolt down the shaft and that should make it able to be adjusted i hope this helps
