Question about HP LaserJet 5500DN Printer

HP laserjet 5500dn paper jam at fuser

I have a HP laserjet 5500dn. Someone tried to print on the back side of a preprinted poster and the paper got rolled around the black roller on the fuser kit. We removed the paper. Now when we try to print, the paper stops as it is entering the output tray and we get a ''13.09.00 paper jam'' display message. We can see about 1/2'' of the paper sticking out of the printer. When we pull the paper out, it does have printed text on it. We did notice that a black piece of plastic was broken from the lever that guides the paper into the output tray. I've seen other posts talking about sensor flags, but I don't know where they are located on the printer. Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Charlotte

Hi,
I was able to fix my problem. On the left side of the fuser assembly there are two small plastic tabs or flags that move up & down. One is attached to the plastic rod/flap that you can see from the top of the fuser and moves when the paper comes out of the "chute". The other tab, which is below the first tab and moves when the paper has passed some point in the fuser, was broken off. I glued the tab back on and now the paper is ejected from the printer like it is suppose to.

I'm thinking that the broken tab was part of a page sensor flag that would tell the printer to stop rolling the fuser assembly when the paper was ejected. Without the flag, the sensor would disengage the fuser prematurely and stop ejecting the paper while the paper was still in the fuser.

How do I solve this problem? My hp LJ 4345 printer experiences intermittent paper jam in fuser(accordion-like) with half of the paper out of the fuser. We've replaced the fuser with a new one but the

This error can be caused by the following:

1. Fuser that is close to end of life. Maximum print quantity is 225,000 pages.

2. poor quality paper, very thin paper never feeds well and will jam.

3. Printing an image that is almost entirely black can cause the paper to buckle before entering the fuser.

Try different paper to see if that resolves the problem.

I have a Hp Laserjet 4000n printer. Whenever i try to print the paper is printed but it does not come out and is jammed under the catridge and it displays error 13.5 all the time. can someone please help...

It sounds like the fuser roller is not turning.

Remove two small caps, unscrew the fuser fuser and remove it.

Rough up the red roller with Scotch Brite

Oil the black bearings on the top roller.

Use this item to configures the fuser mode associated
with each media type.
Change the fuser mode only if you are experiencing
problems printing on certain types of media. After you
select a type of paper, you can select a fuser mode
that is available for that type. The available selections
might include some or all of the following modes:
NORMAL: Used for most types of paper.
HIGH 1: Used for rough paper.
LOW: Used for transparencies.
HIGH 2: Used for paper that has a special or rough
finish.
The default fuser mode is NORMAL for all print media
types except transparencies (LOW), and rough paper
(HIGH 1).
CAUTION
Do not change the fuser mode for transparencies.
Failure to use the LOW setting while printing
transparencies can result in permanent damage to
the printer and fuser. Always select Transparencies
as the Type in the printer driver and set the tray type
at the printer control panel to TRANSPARENCY.
When selected, RESTORE MODES resets the fuser mode
for each media type back to its default setting.
Hope this helps

HP 5500dn Color Printer - When you run your hand across the copy the letters feel ''raised'' and toner comes off on your hand and flecks of toner are on the back of the previous page. I recenlty replaced...

Hi,
It sounds like the fuser, which uses heat to transfer the ink to the paper, is not working properly. If there isn't enough heat then the ink doesn't get bonded to the paper properly and flakes off. It could be that the fuser heating element is dying in which case you would need to buy a new fuser assembly. It may also be that the media type setting on the printer does not match the paper you're using. Heavier paper usually needs a higher fuser temperature than plain paper, which the correct media type setting should account for. The printer manual also has a list of paper types that you cannot use with the printer (e.g. inkjet photo paper).

Printer now not printing, as it says there is a paper jam

it sounds as though your pick up rollers are worn. when the oprinter can not pick the paper from the selected tray (tray 2 in your case) then it shows up as a jam. to sort this you will need:

One of these: RM1-0036-020: PAPER PICK-UP ROLLER ***'Y
Two of these: RM1-0037-020: PAPER FEED ROLLER ***'Y

Hope This Helps

Jam errors - but no paper anywhere...

look for a green tab , situated under the toner . you;ll find a metal plate with a green lever on the right side, lift that and look under.
you will also see ( in the middle ) the registration sensor , sometime it get stuck.
also make sure you check in the back of the printer were the fuser is.
