More IC's means more power is needed, so, if the heart rate monitor is starting to malfunction, that's the very first sign of underpowered battery. Find your nearest watch repair shop and ask for battery replacement.
Hi, to replace battery, you need to undo the 4 screws hold the back casing. When these are removed you can open the back, revealing the battery. There is a black plug that pushes into a white socket on the pcb, with 4 wires coming out of it that goes to the battery. Pull this plug out and the battery then comes free. Hope this helps.
