Re: batteries

Try recharging it for the minimum of four hours. That is what the booklet says on page11.

I am charging the battery of a brand new purchase. Do I need to let the battery charge fully, ie; the 3.5 hours before I can use it? I keep getting a, "Key LOCKED, system shutting down message on the...

For the initial charging, YES, you need to follow what's on the manual. If it requires you to charge the player for 4 hours as the initial charging, you need to leave it connected to the wall outlet for 4 hours, so that the battery life will become longer.

Though the key is locked, it's still charging. As long as it's connected to the outlet.

Thank you.

HOw long do you have to charge the mp3 player on the computer? I just got it. Does it say charged on the player when it is finished> I see the battery on there flashing and it says connected

With any new battery device, the first charge should be at least 12 hours, and when the battery is flat then it needs to be charged up for 12 hours again. This needs to be several time for the battery to reach its full charge capacity.
When the battery is fully charged the battery indicator be firm and not flashing.

Double check that the battery has been fully charged, if it is removable, connect a torch lamp across it, it should light, if it does and you are 100% convinced that it`s charged and inserted the correct way round, try performing a hard reboot by removing the battery for about one hour or so to make sure that it`s completely discharged and the uPC inside the equipment is completely reset. Hope this works, Ian

Sony Walkman mp3 not charging (Red exclamation mark)

The player's battery is recharged while the player is connected to a running computer. It takes about 4 hours to fully recharge.
While the player is connected to the computer, do not turn on, restart, wake up from sleep mode or shut down the computer. Doing so may cause the player to malfunction. Disconnect the player from the computer before performing any of the above functions to the computer.
