Question about Acer Aspire 5610-4648 Notebook
To test the video card - plug a monitor into the external port and see if the pink persists.
If the standalone screen is fine - the problem is with your Laptop LCD
The monitor ribbon which runs from your motherboard to your monitor via the hinges could be damaged/loose or the backlight is starting to fail.
The backlight or inverter is bad 90% of the time when your screen turns pink... and can fail at any moment. The backlight is like a mini flourescent & can suffer from the same problems (off-color, poor start times, sudden death etc.) In THIS PICTURE, the inverter is at the bottom (silver with yellow tape) You can also see the ribbon cable i mentioned earlier in the post. Laptops are difficult to disassemble, and should be left to a professional for repair.
