Mp3 player thinks it is full and I can...

I have this generic mp3 player which came with instructions in chinese. It has a delete all feature, but that doesn't seem to work. I have deleted music files, but it has not released the space. I am afraid to reformat, but if I can't figure out how to fix it, I might have to.

- Actually, I was accessing it through my computer, which also thought it was 94% full. This morning I reformated the drive, and all is well.
