Question about Broan-NuTone N-8663RP Combination Light Fan Exhaust Fan
I tried turning my light fixture counter clockwise but that didn't work. I tried the screw driver technique as well, but that didn't work either. However, I applied pulled down the whole fixture with steady, even pressue on both sides and that did the trick. The fixture comes down a few inches while sliding on two wire guides on either side.

Just had the same issue - on this nautilus light you want to take a small flat-head screwdriver and pry down (lightly). The whole glass piece and metal ring will drop about 3 inches and should grab again so that it won't fall. Then push the two metal "hooks" in a little farther to take it off completely. Not a bad design, but it'd be nice to know how to remove it if you didn't install it.

Ok people I tryed everything .... There is a small groove around the glass cover and that's we're you pull down ( I did it with a kitchen knife ) and then the glass cover will extend down at that point you will see the screws to remove the whole fan ... If you would like to do so... It's a mess up there .... If ... Like me .... It has been ten plus years without the bulb fixed !!! So freaking happy !!!

I think this one is removed by rotating the cover counter-clock wise. If that does not work then it will be held in place by about 4 tabs that snap into grooves of the frame. By gently pulling down around the perimeter of the cover should pop them out. Try the first method first.
Good luck. :)

I spent over an hour trying to get the glass cover off and had just about given up. I came here for help and while the advice put me on the right path, I still could not get to the bulb. My problem was that I kept feeling like the fixture was going to pull out of the ceiling. What I finally wound up doing was pulling down on one side of the plastic fixture and then sliding the glass out the side. I was then able to change the bulb. Maybe this will help you if you don't feel like you can pull hard enough the way others have described.
