My Verbatim AC320GB 320GB USB 2.0 2.5" External Hard Drive has all of my content from my old PC, now that I want to edit its content on my macbook, I am unable to. help!

It depends on which format the drive is using. If it's FAT-32 you can immediately read and write from it with your Mac. However, if the drive is formatted as NTFS you'll need a third party driver or software in order to write to the drive. Your Mac can read from but not write to NTFS.

Your should be able to read the drive.

External hard disk

You should not need a disk to get an external hard disk initialized. Did you try to plug it into your PC and see if it detects it?

My verbatim 160 GB harddisk is not detected by the pc. i even bougth new cable and tried it but still the same. how can i fix it ?

Hi,

It's possible that you haven't enabled your hard disk in the BIOS set-up. Just go into your BIOS set-up and try to find your drives and check if your hard disk is enabled.

Get back here if you want clarifications.

Hope it helps.

Let me know.

Thanks!

Lacie 1tb external hard drive into ps3 is not regconised

I have the same issue, however with my verbatim 500g its ok. i believe it is because the lacie is a desktop external and therefore is compatable with windows xp and 7 alone.
Verbatim is a "portable" external hard drive which makes it compatible with several different systems. I would suggest returning it, I just formatted my old verbatim harddrive and set up mediaasharing. Through my router. You can actually route the lacie harddrive by going to my computer and right click the icon. Next go to share with; advanced settings and allow all. Then when you turn your ps3 on search for media servers... I would suggest to google media server for ps3 to get it all seet up. GOOD LUCK

External hard drive does not display icon in My Computer

try other usb port, or other computer and see whether the hdd is detected. If still not, try to go to device manager ( http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch000833.htm ), and then assign a drive letter to the hdd. After that, try to access it from Computer, if not able to access it, format it (use quick format) and then use this data recovery program to recover your files.

External hard drive doesn't respond

Shut your computer down. Disconnect you external hardrive. Power up your computer again. Power up the Verbatim and then connect to a USB port. You should hear a very quiet 'ping'.

Go to My Computer, and the Verbatim should be showing as one of your drives (probably Drive D). You should be able to open it from there.

Make sure that you have a Desk Top Icon for opening the hardrive, it makes it so much easier. Hope this helps
