Question about ViewSonic VX910 19" LCD Monitor

Monitor Generated Image

I frequently get this image of a screen on my monitor that fades from redish, greenish, blueish to gray. It fills the lower two-third of the screen. I know it is generated by the monitor because it happens on three different computers and if I change computers when it is hapenning it still shows up with the other computer. Also I have used a laptop and the laptop image is fine but the monitor image has the distortion. Is this software fixable or must I replace the monitor. I have a picture of the problem.

Samsung monitor 204b screen image is split in to two parts; the upper part OK but lower part is gibberish, ghosty?

Interference. Separate the wiring so it doesn't touch. Touching wires create cross-talk of signals and keeps from running normal.

This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

I hope this helps you get back going.

The color of the display is a bluish

Color casting (Blueish, Greenish, Redish) problem is usually caused by bad video cable or bent pins on the video cable or the video plugs are not seated properly, it can also be bad vidoe card, very rarely caused by failed monitor.

Screen jumps back to prior screen

If you mean to say that the computer-generated displayed image on your screen changes, it's a function of the computer, not the monitor. If you mean to say that some monitor-generated displayed image is appearing (such as a setup/configuration menu or a splash screen), please tell us more so we can diagnose further.

A 20" monitor gets a black screen when turned on

sounds like you might have a back lighting issue? take a flash light and shine it on the monitor when it is black and look to see if the image is there but not lit up, if this is the case then you might need to change the light balist in the monitor of even the back lights themselfs..
if the picture is fuzzy for a long period of time then you have a controler card issue there is a controler card in the monitor that changes the image coming in from HDMI, VGA, DVI into the binary that the vertical and horizontal drivers use to show you the image onthe screen... hope this info helps. good luck

My acer monitor image is faded and washed out

Adjust contract and luminosity: decrease contrast, see how it goes.
ACER monitors tend to have control settings that are out of the range for proper viewing.

The back ground on the screen is not white it is a greenish colour or dirty white

Try pressing the iKey automatic image adjustment button.
This should rectify. Otherwise you may need to have the monitor calibrated.
Has it ever worked from new? How long has it been "off"? Do you leave it turned on all the time?

The color of the screen is not correctly appearing.

if your monitor has color controls try them,if your monitor has auto adjust try that too.if you can test the monitor on another computer try that as well to verify the monitor is causing the problem.if none of this works its safe to assume that the color control circuitry in the monitor has failed and with todays monitor prices it is cheaper to replace than to repair.
