Question about Fujitsu Siemens AMILO Pro V2010 Notebook

Opening the case to expose my memory?

I have a older Fusitsu Siemens Amilo Pro v2010, and I have no clue how to get to my Ram? I can see there are a bunch of screws, but would rather remove the one's I need to. This came with only 256mb, and there is one slot open? Should I replace the 256mb and add just one 1gb or two 512mb sticks? Thank you to all involved, I love your web site!!!

Regards,
Kiki P.S. I never got a manuel

I went on the Internet and found a very, very helpful site, for free!!! Thinking it was difficult, it only took 10min. to do everything. Know I would like to change my Hard drive? That's gonna be a nice obstacle. I'm hoping that web site has that info. as well.

Kiki

Just one example,

http://www.laptopjacks.com/view_part/For-Fujitsu-Amilo-Pro-V2010-DC-Power-Jack-FJ41420.html

The power socket in the laptop that the AC adapter (Charger) plugs into is a DC Power Jack.

Type Amilio Pro V2010 DC Power Jack in your browser search bar, press the Enter key.

What CPU could I fit to the Amilo pro V2010 to improve performance

Before you consider changing the CPU consider upgrading the RAM you can install 2GB of DDR in that laptop it will certainly run faster.
Be carful to get DDR not DDR 2, go onto the crucial RAM site and run the test software it will tell you exactly what you need and how much it will cost around £60.
If you haven’t got 2GB in the laptop I would certainly try that first.
Hope this suggestion helps.

on the bottom of the laptop is a square plate with 1 or 2 screws, when the laptop is off, remove those screws and you should see your laptop memory, gently expand the two thin metal clips on either side of the memory and it should pop up at an angle, gently remove it and replace with a larger capacty memory module.

Keyboard replacement instructions for fujitsu siemens amilo pro v2010

The keyboard removal process is very similar to many other laptop brands.
1. Remove screws securing the keyboard.
2. Remove keyboard bezel.
3. Unplug keyboard cable from the connector on the motherboard.
A word of caution. Be very careful with the connector on the motherboard when you unlock it If you accidentally break the connector, you’ll have to replace the whole motherboard.

You can even try this site http://mycapsules.com/disassembly/fujitsu-s2110/keyboard
or this site

It is not your model but it will give you an idea.Just keep pressing "next"
Hope it helped.

Memory uprgrade

You have to remove the keyboard, under the keyboard to the left is a heat shield (silver metal cover), remove it. Your ram is located there. Just take your time and remember where the screws go.

Upgrading my fujitsu amilo pro v2010

Hi Brian,
It's not a problem as u think..
Yes your Ram is 256 M.B // but your Vga Card is built in the mother board with 64 M.B ..so it's share the Vga card Memory from ur basic ram (64 - 256 = 190~192 M.B) .
So u just need to increase ur rams by new one or replace this ur current ram by 2g.byte ram .

best luck.
