If it's gas, there's a whole series of things that have to happen to make heat. If any one in the series fails, it won't work. It usually takes a technician to figure it out. The only easy thing is the igniter, a funny looking piece of metal right in the flame area, with a couple of wires going to it. It's very delicate, and if it's broken, put in a new one.
If it's electric, it could be a broken heater element, or one of many thermo-sensors could fail. Those have to be checked out with a multi-meter. Even the contact in the timer can fail, but it's usually the element.

Whirlpool Imperial Series Dryer is Not Drying But Has Heat

Make sure it's blowing air out the vent outside. But even though it's heating doesn't mean it's heating 100 percent so u might need a heating element. Not to expensive to buy and often not to hard to change, refer to owners Manuel or a computer on how to change it.

Dryer heats but not drying

could ber one of a couple things. 1 the exhaust line is clogged. I know this sounds silly but if the hour air can't get out properly it throws off the entire cycle and it won't warm up right. 2 the thermostat could be bad 3 the fan could be not spinning due to being cracked or otherwise messed up

My clothes have been drying for 2 1/2 hrs and are still wet. The dryer is spinning and the clothes feel warm to the touch but not dry. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Turn the dryer off, unhook the exhaust tube, and make sure it isn't clogged. Also check to make sure the outside exhaust vent isn't blocked or clogged with anything.

Kenmore 70 series dryer won't dry

If the dryer is heating any at all you have a blocked or restricted exhaust problem. Is it not drying with little amount of warm air or is the air cool.

Dryer heats clothes but does not dry them

Check the following:

Since you said the dryer heats....

Make sure you have the dryer set to the correct cycle, and not delicate or air only.

Make sure the drying cycle time runs for the set period. If not, the timer may be faulty.

Make sure the dryer is tumbling (the drum is turning). If not, you may have a drive issue like a bad or broken belt, or some other mechanical drive issue.

Make sure the lint screen is clean and the dryer exhaust all the way to the outside of the dwelling is clear and not obstructed with lint or anything else. If you don't feel a pretty good beeze coming out of the wall discharge vent, start looking for a plugged vent.

There could also be an exhaust fan issue with the dryer if the vent line is clear. If this is plugged or not working, the back of the dryer will need to be removed and the cause(s) determined.

Make sure the dryer isn't overloaded and that the clothes aren't too wet when they are placed in the dryer, possibly pointing to a spin dry issue with your washing machine.

My Kenmore 600 is not even 2 years old. It spins and appears to have heat but the clothes do not dry. I cleaned a ton of lint from the flex pipe/elbow joint in the rear of the dryer but this has not...

You are on the right track by cleaning the vent elbow.

Also check:

The entire vent line to the outside diverter (the little thing that looks like a hood). Depending on your dwelling, the vent line can also become obstructed with lint and sometimes other things like bird's nests, especially near the discharge outlet. This can happen when the flapper valve at the outlet sticks.

Make sure the lint screen is always kept clean

Another thing to try - empty the dryer and pull it away from the wall until you can get behind it. Disconnect the vent line and turn the dryer on air only. The air velocity coming out of the dryer air exhaust line should feel pretty strong. If it doesn't, the fan could be full of lint as well or there could be an issue with the exhaust fan itself. If the fan is plugged or bad, the back of the dryer will have to be removed and the fan checked.

The dryer should not be overloaded and be sure the clothes being dried aren't too wet (possibly indicating a washer spin cycle issue).

Kenmore 90 series gas dryer, NO HEAT!!!

Hi, if you get no glow on the ignitor and you have voltage its the little white two terminal fuse on the exhaust side that has no continuity on the series 80 it has 2 blue wires, these complete the circuit for both gas valves and the ignitor. If you have an ohm meter it you will find it rite away. Hope this helps.
