Question about XFX NVIDIA GeForce 8500 Graphic Card
You may need to install some case fans. airflow while playing games is really important as your system is being worked and needs to keep cool. Try removing the side of the case (left side there will be 2 screws usually on the rear) and see if that cools things down a little bit. If it does install some fans to move some air in your system.

Have you overclocked without upgrading your cooling? Does the card have enough power(not an issue if PCI-e). If not cooling is not THAT MUCH of an issue(as it always is a bit :-)
Anyways before all try this!
You need to set PCI latency.
In BIOS the default value is 32 or 64, right? set it to 64-128(rather 128)
that's just for poorly factory preset cards, however!
Now download and install this:
Run The program and set:
1. Graphics card latency -around 256
2. disk controller - 80-135(128 if only binary numbers are allowed)
3. any memory related stuff you might see-check if it's at least somewhere between 64-96
4. sound card -adjust to 64-116(64 is plenty if it's an onboard, but set even 128 if it's some Creative Labs...)
As your problem is related supposedly to graphics, you can be fine by just quickly setting them and forgeting the rest(but why hurry? it's short anyhow).
Try and you'll rate this fixya! :-)
And who is the manufacturer of your card? (not the chip! -we all know that:) Just for kicks.(or maybe a good advice in case...)

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service
