Re: it wont turn green
It appears there is an issue between the battery or the charger cord. If you have had your battery for a long time and use the charger for prolong periods, it can actually burn out your battery quicker.
To prolong the life of your battery and make sure it works properly it's best to run it out entirely, then recharge it. Charge it for the suggested time frame, not any longer, as that can sometimes do something worse.
See if you can track down another replacement battery. If you have had your battery or set for a while now, over a year or such, chances are its time to get another one...
Red lights are a sign of uncharged or battery issues....

the pc function means that it is connected to your computer this is good because now you should be able to upload pics and ect...the red light is simply to show its charge level and is always on when plugged in to computer also there should be a switch on the side to change from camera to charge if its on charge and the light is red then its carging and it will turn green when its done.
I had the same problem that the green light turned on then the red one, even though the camera batteries where new.
I found a solution for this problem, hope it works for all as it did for me.
The link shows the images of the steps you need to follow to fix this problem. This problem actually is from low batteries or low voltage in the camera, but its not because the batteries are dead, it is because the batteries don't have a good contact with the metal conductors in the camera.
In the images you can see that the camera has a plastic cover for the battery contacts, so the way to fix it is to remove that plastic cover with a small screwdriver, and pop in the new batteries.
With that it should fix the problem. Hope it works.
sounds like a dead battery. Plug the origional charger into it and the front led (below the flash) should flash red. If the red led in the back of the camera flashes or stays lit, then you have the wrong charger plugged in. (the camera won't power up if the back red/green led is on when plugged in)
When you charge the battery what does it do? Does the red light flash or stay solid? If it stays solid while it's charging then you should be ok. Casio doesn't recommend using any other brand of battery with their cameras because we don't know how they will react. I would say try a regular Casio battery and see if that solves your problems. I know that means a little more money but a lot of times I have seen that solve the problem right away.
Well. Ive got the same problem only ive gone thru 3 batteries trying to figure out what the problem is. When i plug it in to charge the light turns red , then within 5 sec's turns green. It stays green but never charges the battery. After 24 hours, its still a dead battery. Im just assuming since its 5 years old that the internal charger is shot. Looking for a new camera at this time.
