Question about HP LaserJet 8150 Printer

Spring came loose under the roller

On the HP LaserJet 8150 printer I was cleaning the roller under the Toner Cartridge and one of the three springs came loose as I was putting the roller back in. I don't know were the spring goes. Now when I print the ink is lighter on the paper.

Hi niffieprinti:
If you remove the toner cartridge again and remove the roller (Registration Roller) one side of the roller has a gear and the other has a silver bar, well one spring goes under the gear on the left side and the other spring goes under the bar on the right side of the roller. The springs apply pressure to the paper against the toner cartridge so that the image is clean and dark. if you have any further questions let me know.

Thanks

the two places to look is transfer roller and the fuser unnit.
i think there is a problem with the transfer roller it is under the toner and it needs to be spring loaded. The paper passes between the toner an the transfer roller to charge the paper en let the toner stick to the paper and if it doesn't make correct contact then it wont work

Did this just suddenly happen or was it after you replaced the toner cartridge or opened the door?
I have found that if the toner cartridge is not completly positioned into the printer, it can give this error.

The only part of the printer that you ned to get at is under the toner cartridge. Open door, remove toner cartridge and vacuum dust. If you are referring to black toner dust on the fuser roller ( where paper comes out of printer ) that is alot harder job.

Could be the rubber roller that feeds paper through to the toner. Use a product called rubber rejuvenator which you can find at a Staples or Office depo...Spray it on the roller and it should soften the rubber and allow for the roller to grip the paper better. It could also be the flap on your toner getting stuck and not allowing the paper to pass through.

You are correct to assume the problem is in your toner cartridge. Even if you have an old one you can shake it enough to try it and see if the problem goes away. 90% of the time copy quality issue is the toner cartridge.

How to toner refeil

r u a professional??
if so pull out the toner cartridge, unscrew from both side, gently remove the drum & the magnetic mesh roller, be careful that the teflon cover is not affected n there is spring on one side, clean the drum with a soft cotton cloth n keep aside, now clean neatly the container vessel & magnetic-mesh roller using a brush, refill using 'original' refill pack, don't refill till brim, reassemble all, after reassembly, clean all toner spills using soft cotton cloth, blow some heat on the drum using a hair dryer..itz ready
..always hv an expert supervision n always use genuine spare n refills..dis will make ur pc last long....

Toner cartridge spring loose

This printer is an ink printer. If you mean to say that the spring on the printer that holds the ink cartridge is loose then you should call HP if your printer is under warranty and have it fixed. If your printer is no longer under warranty, I think I found the part you need to replace to fix the problem for $35 from this site http://www.partshere.com/online/detail.asp?partno=C8963-HOLDER. I don't know about the reputation of this site and it is only an informed guess that this is the part you need.

Could be a few things. I would check the transfer roller first it is the roller that sits under the toner cart. This roll should be spring loaded. Press down on each end, it should move down and come back up. If someone removed this roll the springs may be missing or out of place.
Let me know if this helps

First try changing out the toner cartridges since it is the cheapest option. If this doesn't work check the fuser unit by opening the back door and see if there is a line worn down the miidle. One other option may be the transfer roller that sits under the toner cartridge. It may be worn.
