HP Business Jet 2800 stall error message

Service Stall message registers, press resume to continue...sheet of paper cycles and error message continues.

    This didn't work the first time, but let me try again. I get the error message on the printer with no computer linked to it, also.

    My problem wasn't solved but I was one step closer. I think he was right in that it prbably needed to go to service center for error removal.

Hi there,

try to do the ff..

  1. unplug the unit for a while.
  2. uninstall the device driver completely
  3. restart the pc & let it detect the printer.
  4. reinstall the device driver,

let me know..

    it seems that the printer itself has the problem. the unit may need to be bring on service center to check & clear the error on the stored memory on it.

Where as I think you must re-install your printer's driver. Because sometime the driver of printer is blocked or not working well. Moreover, after re-installing the driver, you must update that driver.

Check print cartidge light keep blinking and the light on copies showing empty while there is paper in the tray


Issue: The Check Paper and Check Print Cartridge lights blinkIn this error condition , the following blinking lights pattern displays on the control panel:
  • On/Resume light : On
  • Check Paper light : Blinking
  • Check Print Cartridge light : Blinking
  • Black Start Copy light : On
  • Color Start Copy light : On

i get this message on my printer

'Service stall... press OK to continue'


1. Check that there is no "gummy" or dry section on the track bar ; if necessary, use pure silicone spray (Jig-A--Loo is a known one) on a paper tissue, to wipe the bar.

2. Power OFF the printer, unplug the cord, push the ON button for 15 seconds (reset), replug the printer. Bring the carriage as far as you can to the left and power it on.

Those two steps should fix your problem... it works for me.

Clean encoder strip with clean water, clean rod with denatured alchol you can get at Home Depot and lube with Synthetic Lubricant that you can purchase at a gun shop for about $4.
