Re: Neeed help

Try a format, Over a period of time your info can get corrupt from transering music back and forth. To format plug it in to usb. Go to my computer It shows up as a removably disc, usually drive f: Right click on drive f: (or the approriate drive) and click format. Let me know what happens, you will have reload the player, also try bypassing the software you are using to tranfer, by opening up drive f: and clicking and dragging your music into it , or you can copy and paste it into drive f: L8R

Cannot get files onto device from PC

This unit is actually produced by RCA. If you go to their website you can download Firmware, and Software to update the unit. You can also try to do a "reset". There is a very small button on the bottom, if you press this with a pen and hold it for about 3 seconds it may start working again.

this is the best solution you have update your lyra rd 1080/rd 1090 for download the updating click her and after instaling this update follwo instructions provided below ? To update your Lyra RD1080/RD1090, make sure you have it connected to the computer via the included USB cable. You will need to make sure that no external memory has been inserted and the Lyra RD1080/RD1090 display reads: "USB Connected Int. Mem". (If it does not, please refer to the users guide for the section on how to switch between internal and external memory.) ? Once connected, locate and run the Lyra Systems File Update Utility if it didn't open automatically. Click the "Refresh" button until the RD1080/RD1090 player shows up under device. ? Once displayed, highlight the drive letter by clicking on it, and click the "Update SYstem Files" button. ? When successfully completed, you will see the message, "The Lyra Personal Audio Player Device system files were successfully updated." ? Click the "OK" button, and then "Done". This will close the Lyra Systems File Update Utility. ? Disconnect the Lyra RD1080/RD1090 from the USB cable, turn the unit off and back on.

Failed to Load Files

I was able to access the play list using Windows Media Player. I was trying to get the computer to recognize the player, and it wouldn't do it. I even downloaded the Lyra Personal Audio Player updater... that didn't work or recognize the player.
Try the programs that are on your computer for playing MP3's.

Error message turning on

Is it possible you deleted system files along with other files by mistake? It's a very common problem, and it would be good to know what causes this since some people say its because the Lyra allows you to delete system files which screws the device. I heard of someone that called Thomson helpline with this problem and got his replaced, so it wouldn't hurt to try. RCA has this page on the problem: It might help... And there's this program that is said to help with the formatting, get it here along with some instructions: Good luck!
