Hi, I have to reinstall Windows Vista 32bit on my laptop. I have recovery CD's. Installation was without any problem only DVD driver wont work ! If original diver is installed OS can't detect DVD-ROM. So I uninstall diver, restart laptop, Windows detect DVD-ROM hardware and ask me for driver, 3optons 1)find driver (don't work) 2)ask me later (DVD-ROM work without any driver) 3) don't install driver (DVD-ROM wont work).

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer. 2.Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted. 3.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console. 4.Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter. 5.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER. 6.At the command prompt, Type compact /U C:\bootmgr compact /U C:\ntldr
it is likely that your dvd drive is defective. the drive is held in by one screw either on the bottom or under the keyboard. once you pull it out you will see the model number for it and then can find one either at a good computer store or on ebay and replace it and your problem will be fixed
hello , friend its very easy to do that, steps are
1. insert bootable cd/dvd xp prof. cd.
2. But be cautious because the xp profsn doesnt contain the drivers for ata hard disk. so pls find on net the drivers for ata hard disk drivers, also update it in bootable xp profsnl dvd . recreate bootable dvd of xp with advanced bootable xp,
3. or find it from your friend with latest updates requirement. and do from it.
4. Boot from tht cd and start the installation.
5. once it i completed install all video, audio e.tc. drivers.
6. if you dont have that drivers pls download it from toshiba site by entering the toshiba serial no
Right Side, underneath your volume control. If it is switched on and still cant access the internet wireless give this a try.
Use Control Panel's Add or Remove Programs utility to uninstall the Toshiba Hotkey Utility, and then reinstall it.
This program is called E-Key Utility on the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD. It's called Toshiba E-Key Utility for Windows XP on the Toshiba Support website.
Unistalling the Toshiba Hotkey Utility:
Click Control Panel.
Double-click Add or Remove Programs.
Select TOSHIBA Hotkey Utility.
Click OK to confirm that you wish to completely remove the selected application and its features. The InstallShield Wizard will begin the removal process.
Click Finish to exit the InstallShield Wizard.
Re-installing the Toshiba Hotkey Utility using the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD that shipped with the computer:
Insert the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD into the CD/DVD drive and close the tray. The setup program on the DVD should start automatically.
When the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window appears, verify that "Install applications and drivers" is the selected install type, and click Next.
Select E-key Utility from the list, and click Install.
When the WinZip Self-Extractor window appears, click OK.
Click OK to acknowledge that the files were successfully unzipped.
When the InstallShield window appears, click Next and follow the prompts to complete the installation.
When the installation is complete, click Exit and then OK to close the Toshiba Recovery and Applications CD window.
Remove the Toshiba Satellite M30X/M35X Series Recovery and Applications/Drivers DVD from the optical drive and close the tray.
