Whirlpool 6.5 cu ft 5 cycle is not timing and drying clothes qui

The problem is my Whirlpool 6.5 cu ft 5 cycle is blowing hot air but not hot enought to dry the clothes quickly like it use to. Also the timer on the top of the dryer stopped working and timing the dryer to turn off and the dryer will continue to run until I turn it off. It takes a full day to dry one load of laundry. Please let me know what I should do. Thanks.

First I would check to make sure your vent is not clogged or kinked. As far as the timer, the only fix would be to replace it. Unless of course you have the feature that detects the dryness and that would put you back at the venting problem. Good luck.

There are instructions for cleaning the lint screen, which if clogged, will effect the drying time. Hope this helps.

My extra large capacity Whirlpool dryer does not dry in one cycle. Even if I only put a small load it takes at least 3 cycles to dry

There maybe an air flow issue. With the dryer on check the air flow from the exterior location of your home. There should be a good flow of warm/hot air coming out. If not the inside of the dryer may be full of lint.
