It is either a bad throttle pot, or the set screw that holds the thumb forward/reverse paddle is loose causing the speed to slip, allen wrench to tighten if setscrew is problem

Had brushes replaced on my pride executive scooter but now seems to move a lot faster when just touching the control, I have to have it on the lowest speed to get out of shed and still seems to quick

hi Linda, okay let recap what you have to slow the scooter down , it 's a very fast scooter however you have the speed control located on the tiller and you have the 4 to 8 mph switch located there as well, now they can go faulty and appear to have no effect , have you tried adjusting them ?

Rob

How do I increase the speed of apride elite trav.

you could rewire it so that it bypasses the speed controller, so its direct current flowing from the battery to the motor, but first check the voltage of the battery's and the motors

Constant beeping but scooter will move

okay there sounds like there either water somewhere or condensation ?

place the whole scooter in a warm room next to a radiator, not too close but close enough so it gets the warmth leave it like this to dry out, this has worked for me, water causing a short either under the tiller panel or where the controller is situated.

My pride go go elite traveler 4 wheel stops randomly often with no beeps. I have replaced the throttle, the speed pot, the brake, and the batteries check out fine.

You may have a loose connection at one of the harnesses or connectors. If there are no codes you may have a bad controller or loose connection at the controller. Slow speed problems may be motor or motor brush problems you can diagnose by visual inspection or a voltmeter. Load test the new batteries and the charger output. Block it up and run it checking and knocking all the components until it quits. I have seen a dragging brake caused by a melted controller harness at the controller connector cause a similar problem. Hope this helps.

7 bleeps on my GO GO ELITE TRAVELLER SCOOTER

Hi. 7 beeps is fault code for a faulty speed potentiometer. Might also be a broken wire on the pot or a faulty connector. Most times, a new pot will fix the problem.
Good luck. Neil.

My scooter sometimes seems to slow down for no reason on full power. It is like something it holding it back then all of a sudden it is working fine.

Hi. Could be a couple of faults. The throttle pot ( Wig Wag ) could be worn. While you are driving the machine, try moving the ends of the lever up or down slowly, ( not in and out as you usually do for driving ), and see if that makes the speed vary.
Another problem could be faulty battery or motor connectors. I have replaced or removed many battery connectors because of this. Also check battery or motor wirs where they connect to the controller.
If you feel unsure about checking the connectors, get a good serviceman to do it for you. Good luck. Neil.

Pride celebrity suddenly stps while driving, may be related to hitting bumps

You need to slow things down a bit or else you may be paying a few speeding fines. Did you say bumps??? What may have happened is that one of the cables may have been knocked half out of the control box and may just need a nudge to make proper electrical contact. I just hope you have not damaged the accelerator (Potentiometer). Sometimes the shaft on the wigwag breaks the contacts in the accelerator from being moved too vigorously when going over a bump too fast. A technician would need to repair this for you. Happy scooting. Regards Chris… info@mymobility.co.nz

You might be over the weight capacity for this little scooter. When you overload it, the controller senses and overheating and slows the scooter down to prevent burning up the electrical system. When it has cooled, it will operate normally again. If you aren't overloading it, or if the previous owner did in case it's used, then the PC board needs to be replaced which is located inside the top of the tiller cover and the speed pot conects to this board. They aren't too expensive; about $30.00 from a Pride dealer. Take the shroud covering the tiller assembly apart by removing the screws that hold the clamshell cover together. Take the knob off the speed control and you will see an electronics board with several snap-on connections to it. This is what gets replaced.
