UMD game not loading

Hello, My son was playing the PSP this morning. It was working just fine. We got to work and he turned it on and the screen comes up and everyhting looks fine. The UMD game looks at if wants to load but it doesn't. I can't even see it on the menu screen under the game icon. Can you help? I have no other game with him so I don't know if it's the UMD or the PSP. But it was working just fine earlier.

Hi. Since you're in UMD Autoload mode, you need to configure that in the PSP Settings. To do this, turn off your PSP and remove your UMD. Now, turn it back on and it won't autoload your UMD since it wasn't there anymore.
Now, go to "Settings" and scroll down to "System Settings" and press X. Scroll down again the selection until you see "UMD Auto-Start" and press X. At the right side will appear the options "ON" and "OFF". Select "OFF" and press O button several times to go back to main screen.
Insert your UMD. Now, try playing games from Memory Stick. You may have to turn off your PSP and turn it on again to finally play homebrew...
I hope this helps...

My psp isnt playing a brand new game. it wont load the umd. the umd is pretty clean. i wait for it to load and it wont.

Below where the UMD game appears on screen try the button below that should say 'Update PSP'. The game could have an update for the PSP and won't play without it. If this doesn't work contact Sony Website Forums and see if anybody there has had the problem.

You most likely need to clean the lens. Local game stores have kits that clean it for you.

Sony PSP wont play umd

Same with my PSP. My son accidentally broken a spring sensor for the UMD when you close the UMD cover of the PSP. That's why the drive doesn't recognize if there's a UMD. Sony Service Center here in the Philippines doesn't have a replacement part for this.
