Question about Epson Stylus Photo R260 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Recyled ink isn't being recognized

I've used recycled cartridges before, and at first they didn't print, but then they did. Now, I'm trying to replace my ink, and can't get it to work. I just read that recycled cartridges only work a certain percentage of the time.

Neither the black or the color work.

Any suggestions?

Have you reset the Chip on the cartridges. What model you use--- a nine Pin or old seven Pin model. Nine Pin are difficult to reset, seven Pin are easy with a hardware Resetter. If Chip show empty cartridge, you can fill them two days, it will show empty-- reset the Chip!

Epson Workforce 600 not recognizing black toner

I had the same problem and was told by the store that sold it to me that some printer manufacturers do this on purpose as they make their most money on the ink they sell not the printer. I got rid of mine and purchased an ink jet black only printer as this is all I need anyway. A lot cheaper to use.

the body of text of the test page is black ink. From what you describe, the print heads are clogged. Most HPs use cartridges that have the head built in, but if not used for an externded period they can dry up and clog.
Try repeated head cleanings (10 or more) see if any change. If none, try new HP ink cartridges

The ink solidifies right behind the micro printing nozzles. The only way to attempt to rectify this is to dip the print face into some warm (not hot) water for a minute or two, and dry after wards. If the cartridge recovers, Yippee, if it doesn't, replace.
Common problem. Be thankful it isn't a Canon or Epson, which entails replacing a seriously expensive 'print head'.

the jet is clogged... set the self clean mode on if this does not fix it try another cartridge. if you have been using refilled, recycled cartridges this may have damaged the jets. common fault that recyclers know about but dont give a toss. ink should be filtered 9 times before being injected into cartridge most recyled are filtered once. this causes jets to become blocked, overheat and actually melt
