Garmin gpsmap 60csx won't acquire satellites (by 6 users)

posted by burn on Sep 17, 2007

I just bought this gps unit 4 days ago and it was working fine. I turned it on today and it won't acquire any satellites. It's my understanding that if this occurs some sort of menu should open up but it does not. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have been using my 60csx for a couple of months, then this weekend, it does not aquire satellites. The date and time are stuck on 1 apr 08. replaced batteries. turned on for several hours. Took batteries out. for several hours, and tried to reset. No luck

Go to the Garmin Web site's home page, avoid staring to long at the hot chick and click on "On The Trail" .. "Mapping Handhelds" .. scroll down to the second row far right and click on the 60CSx. You will then see the 60CSx page, look to the right and click on "Updates & Dowdloads", on doing so you will now see four downloads to choose from. The one you will need is "GPS Chipset Type G Ver. 2.90 as of Nov 27, 2006" if you follow this you shouldn't have any problems. If however you do i'll keep an eye on this page and try to help, this is my first GPS and also had the same issue.

I already downloaded the latest software version but the problem remains, I change the batteries, change fisical location, etc, etc.
