My screen has gone but urgently need to connect it to my projector to access information. I turn it on and wait a few minutes and then try Fn F3 which has the laptop/monitor image on it but it doesent switch. My IBM thinkpad just connects to the same projector automatically or when prompted. does anyone know the procedure to connect to a projector??

Did you reinstall all drivers from the recovery CD? Windows should have detected the wireless card and installed the software for it and notify you automatically of nearby networks without any further software being installed.
Remove the battery and the power supply. Hook it to wall power only w/o the battery and try to turn it on. If it boots great, otherwise pull the power from the unit while it tries to turn on. Plug it back in and try turning it on again. If that doesn't work you need to re-seat the RAM and/or processor. Last thing to try if that doesn't work is new RAM as a processor almost NEVER goes bad and it is either the RAM or the motherboard at that point.
