Question about Panasonic PT-47WX42 47" Rear Projection Television

Power problem? Today for the first time I have experienced a problem where I try to turn the tv on, I hear the click inside of the 'switch' then moments later it just clicks again. I get no power. It doesn't even try to come on. I've tried other outlets and have tried other things in the same outlets, so it's not a blown outlet. Any ideas?

Re: Power problem?

It was a fuse. Ordered a new one and it fixed the problem.

TV will not turn on.

Sounds like there is a short in the tv somewhere, the clicking is probably a breaker/fuse inside the tv cutting power to prevent damage to the components. Have you tried a different outlet as they can sometimes cause this to occur by surging power to the unit.

Panasonic cinemavision 1080i power light blinks red twice, will not turn on

The clicking sound is a safety device that prevents that TV from starting because a fault has been detected.

The fault is also indicated by the two blinks. Two blinks point at a problem with one of the low voltage lines (it should be 15V) from the power supply. The PSU is the part to be tested and eventually replaced. Before calling the technician try to unplug the power cord and leave the TV to rest for about one hour before restarting.

Sony wega 50" tv has just started doing this today, tried turning tv on and it attempts to come on but no sound or picture then turns off and the on/off lights start blinking 3 times then pause then a

Hi there are a couple of things that could be happening, there is a power fuse on a lot of sony tvs which might blow, to replace should be done by a technician, he should open the back and check either where the cable meets the tv. inside there might be a fuse there, if not then on the power board next to where the power cable meets the board there is a fuse there. it hould be replaced with the same rating fuse. ALSO there is a known problem on some sony and Samsung sets which might be what you are experiencing, the problem could be the capacitors on the power board where put in a lot rate to save money, they may last for a few years then die. they need to be replaced and it would mean takeing the back off opening the power board removing it, de soldering the parts and soldering new ones in. I would recommend a qualified technician do the job as the board is high voltage and with any job like this there is a danger of eletrocution. the engineer should check the power module to see if any capacitors are deformed or leaking. they should be changed for the same picofarad rate and tempreture rating but for a higher voltage. if say they are 10v then they should be replaced with 13v or higher the higher the better but the physical dimentions must still fit back on the module. there are usually 2 capacitors to change and they cost only a few quid to buy. I got a local electrical shop to fix it for about 20 quid which was better than a new tv.

i hope this was useful

TV needs lamp replacement as existing lamp got weak or has been reached to end of its working life, please note that lamp is not dead or broken so that is why lamp lit is not lit at tv front.
Hope these info will help you.

HL-R4266W shuts down and a faint clicking sound can be heard

I believe I read somewhere that when you open the back cover over the lamp, there is a special little black switch that needs to be in the up position when you put the cover back on, or the TV can shut itself off randomly.

Power indicator blinks; but no picture.

Likely to be the STK convergence chips causing a protection circuit to cut in and switch the TV off when turned on. Do you hear clicking when you switch on?

Mitsubishi TV WD-62527 will not turn on

Hi there, this is most commonly known as power board failure in the industry. the capacitors are blown. if you are experienced in inspecting circuit boards this will be helpful. you will have to disassemble and pull the power board and preform a break point test. the bown capacitors are easily picked out. they will be swollen and discolored. If you are not comfortable with disassembling this set, i suggest a service call. just tell the tech you are experiencing a power board failure.
