I change the ram and since then even with the old ram it just dont want to boot up, it sounds as if the computer is starting but nothing is displayed on the screen its just black, like there is no...

If its a ram problem then you should not get anything out of it at all. If it generates any beep codes or anything then it probably isn't the ram.

First thing to try is reseat the cards and check the ram. You may want to go back to your original ram and see if those work. If it works on the old ram then the problem is either the new stuff being the wrong type , wrong speed, or not being seated properly. Usually its just the wrong type or speed. You may find that even though it says it is the correct thing it won't work. You get that a lot with cheaper ram brands.

Trick is to go back to a working configuration and then change one thing to rule things out.

Hi,

Some motherboards support both IDE and SATA so it is not unlikely for your MOBO to have both. There should be some mention of SATA in the motherboard BIOS screens so have a look see. Otherwise just plug in a SATA device to it and see if it works!!

Cheers,
Ripface.

775Dual-880 Pro cannot detect SATA HDD 320gb

if you bought this board brand new, take it back and tell them the sata controllers in the bois are not sufficent and get one that is. If you got it second hand then you will need to update or flash the bios to the latest version. see if that works and the drive is recognised. if it is recognised via flash/update you may still run into problems if you try to install XP
good luck and regards

How can i run 1 or 2 DDR2pc8500 1066Mhz on a asrock 775dual 880pro< it booted, went to bios to down the speed to 667, but when windows(XP) tried to boot it went to a blue screen saying things about memory...

your motherboard supports DDRII 667/533/400 and DDR400

1066 is not supported, I have never tried to use a unsupported memory speed on a motherboard so I don't know, I know you lowered it to 667 but still the ddr2 which you have bought is not supported by default.

why buy too fast memory?

Since the only thing connected is the power suppy and the CPU, this is often caused by a power supply unable to provide the power to the MB. You will need to swap out the power supply and that should take care of the problem.
