Question about Canon PIXMA iP1500 InkJet Photo Printer

1 Answer

Unclear Printing After being unused for 4 months, I replaced my printer's black ink cartridge and tried to print but everything came out faded, streaked and blurry. I tried cleaning and deep cleaning the nozzles multiple times as well as doing multiple print head alignments. The clarity improved a bit but is still quite blurry. Please help me!!!

Re: Unclear Printing

Your print head is most probably blocked.
First try and run the cleaning program a few more times, it make penetrate deep enough to get through.
If that doesn't work you can either replace the print head or try and clean it.

To clean it you could soak it in a mixture of window cleaner and water (filtered best), but don't let the electronics get wet by this and try to avoid wetting the rubber seals where the ink tanks go get wet by this too, it should only soak the very bottom part of the head.
Let it dry off and wipe any residue with a soft cloth especially on the bottom where the print heads actually are. You may need to soak it a few times to get all the gunk out.

Printer only won't print in black

My printer did that a few months ago. I tried everything to get it printing black but in the end I had to take the ink cartridge back and return a new one. Some ink cartridges dry out when they are being shipped if not stored in proper conditions.

HP officejet pro 8500 ink cartridge problem

Changing a printer cartridge is not complex but improper handling of the parts may damage the printer and the cartridge. If the user notices that while printing the ink comes out dry or faded, it may be time to change the ink or the toner. The user will know if it is time to change the toner because instead of a sharp image, one will get a faded image. It is time to change the ink cartridge when the printing comes out spotty or colors are used to replace others —for instance, blue for black or yellow for red. Remember, faded images signal the need to change the toner; spotty printing signals the need to change the ink cartridge get more help for change cartridge .
Hope this helps you.

Standard black printing has faded to grey.

Could just be a faulty cartridge?

My hp printer developed a similar fault, and despite all my attempts to clean, realign, whatever, the problem wasn't solved till I fitted a new ink cartridge. It's worth a try.

Printing problem

Take out the cartridge and see if the contacts on the both the printer and the cartridge are clean. Sometimes old unused cartridges dry up. Maybe it's gunky. Go to Properties, Printing Preferences, and see if there is a tab that says Maintenance. If you are going to throw the cartridge anyway, open the label on the top and add a few drops of water. Let it sit for a while.

Print faded after replacing black cartridge Brother 240C

The print heads don't appreciate being out of ink so the Brother printer has sensors to prevent that but the tape defeated that prevention. Maybe more cleanings or maybe a cartridge with printhead cleaning solution will help. Otherwise, I fear a new printer.
