In my Sylvania LD320SS8 A the picture is beeing cut off, the TV channel ID and half of the close capture letters are cut off, I have change the screen setting to full, cinema, and all others with the same result, i changed the HDMI cable same result when back to the coax same result. Please help.

it is a very simple TV, is TV connected to cable? Here is link to manual copy and past download and save for future reference. It is very old and has CRT not LCD.

You are in PIP Picture in picture mode. Turn the PIP option off.

try the various codes listed for phillips. that should cure your problem. if not try sampo.

The aspect ratio (zoom) button on the cable remote had been changed. On Brighthouse the # button toggles through the zoom settings. It's not a tv issue, it's a cable fix.

I also own a Sylvania LD320SS8 HDTV. My solution to the
problem of remote codes that won't work is to junk the
Sylvania, and buy a reputable brand TV such as an LG
HDTV which will work nicely with DirecTV or Dish network
remotes.

Turn off the closed captioning feature. If a channel or program doesn't provide the captioning, all you get is the black box. Just find the menu page for that and change the setup.

that is close caption, get your remote control and press the close caption button.that's it
