FWB-C10/17 3CD Changer/Tuner/Tape Player It was shipped to me and when I plugged it up, all it wants to do is the set up, Dim 1, 2, 3, etc. I cannot get the CD changer to open, cannot get the CD or radio to play. Only the cassette tape player is working and I want everything to work, like it was last week before being shipped to me. HELP!!

Would like too purchase another battery for air gun

Edited to correct spelling.
Move from Air Tools to Firearms.

Unfortunately you give no indication of what your 'air gun' you have!

The search query for this would be

make model battery replacement

and you will end up with something like this. I have had to remove a word beginning with P and isto, ending in L because Fixya doesn't like it.

I have a 51 sony cd ..what else do I need?

Yes, Sandra, you need to plug this CD player into a tuner. Almost any tuner will work. Using a red & white audio cord (and any cords with similar plugs), connect the Line Out from the CD player to the Line In on the tuner. Depending on the tuner, you may have Line In inputs for CD player, AUX, and possibly others. Any of them should work.

If you don't have a manual for the player, you can download one from the Sony support web site at :

Tuner to cd changer

try disconnecting power to the changer for a few hours and then plug it back in.

Kenwood Stereo

I presume you realize none of these things produces speaker amplification. A receiver would do that and facilitate graceful and simultaneous interconnections. But it's not a necessity for selective interconnective between them, just not all at the same time.

I can't find any details on anything you named except the Tuner.

Typically, the tuner would use an RCA pair to go to a receiver AUX, TUNER or other Line Level input for source selection and amplification. Lacking a receiver, run it to the Tape Deck inputs for recording.

Ditto for the CD changer, but you'll probably have to disconnect the tuner.

Having a hard time connecting various audio components

Yes, it is a little tricky...

1) CD Changer (output) -> CD input on Amp

this is tricky... this will allow you to record to your tape deck, and control the sound via the EQ:
2) Tape Deck (tape out / recout) -> TAPE PLAYBACK on EQ
3) Tape RecOut on EQ -> Tape 1 Playback on Amp
4) Amp Tape 1 RecOut -> Tape Deck Playback / Input / RecIn
in essence, your creating a loop starting from the tape deck, going to the eq, then to the amp, then back to the tape deck to record.

Your EQ has another set of LINE IN and LINE OUT - use the second Tape 2 on the amp to create another loop. This will
allow you to control the EQ for any of the other sources.
5) LINE IN on EQ -> Tape 2 RecOut
6) Tape 2 Playback on Amp -> LINE OUT on EQ

5) Radio Tuner (output) -> Tuner input on Amp
6) DVD/VCR Combo Output -> AV/AUX on Amp

7) PC Computer... you don't have room for this. You can either use the PHONO input, and you'll have to purchase a Line Level Phono Converter
or, get a Y cable and split the signal and share with some other source.

Hope this helps.

Volume Control??

Unlike low-end hi-fi systems where you buy one box that does everything, the CD player you have is part of a component hi-fi system (i.e. you buy your CD player, tuner, amplifer etc. as separate items.) This is why there is no volume control. It needs to be connected to an amplifer. It's on the amp that you will find the volume control and where you connect the speakers. (When you connect it to your television, you are just using that amp in the TV instead.)

The CD player did originally ship with a remote control, but I don't know where you would be able to buy one on its own. You may find the the remote does allow you to alter the output level of the CD player, but you still need to connect it to a proper amp to get it to work.

Hope this helps,

Matt
