Question about ASUS Eee PC 1000H Laptop

1 Answer

Eee pc won't start

When I turn the machine on, the screen says it didn't start normally, then gives me options for restarting, none of which work. If I pick "start windows normally," it shows the windows startup screen briefly while the bar runs back and forth five and a half times, then reverts back to the "didn't start normally" screen. I bought this less than four months ago. HELP!!!

Sounds like a registry error try to start in safe mode if it does the same thing then when it starts to boot and says xp and the bar starts to move hold down the on off button till it goes off and let it set for a bit (let the hard drive stop turning) and reboot should send it into chkdisk whick will correct the registry error

My Eee pc 1000 notebook is booting in safe mode.

Yo! What you will do is give it emergency shut-down. do that by holding the power key for up to 5seconds for it to go off, then restart. after restart, you will see an option of BOOT NORMALLY, click on that and your system will boot normally.

Windows 7 won't bootup, has error recovery. it loads files then nothing. screen is black.

Had that problem a few times myself.
Only way I could fix was to restore back to factory condition.
As you boot, watch bottom of screen closely.
depending on system, Should need to press F2, F10, possibly F12, might even be Del.
Most likely you didn't get restore disk, or have made one.
If you do, insert disk before boot up. System should boot to DvD.
Don't forget once restored to update.
Hope this helps

I had accidently turned of the power as my PC was loading up , so then when i turned it back up it has come up in a black screen saying:- We apologize for the inconvenience , but windows did not start...

Now that PC works in Safe mode i suggest you to run the Disk Check.

Step1: Double click on My computer and then right click on C drive.
Step2: Choose properties and then click on tools option.
Step3: Click on the Check Now tab listed under Error Checking.
Step4: Select both the options under "Check Disk Option" then click on start.
Step5: It will prompt you to restart your computer.
Step6: The Disk Check gets initiated as soon as you your computer starts rebooting.
Step7: Allow it to finish.

Hope this helps.

My Eee PC netbook won't start windows XP. It turns on, but as it attempts to load the operating system, it just gets stuck loading until it shuts down.

try to press F8 after bios splash and start computer with options "disable restart with error" or something like that. then you gonna get a blue screen and a error write down that error and give it to me.

Only task bar shows up when eee pc is turned on

I had the exact same problem, what helped me out was restoring to factory settings.. When turning it on, press f9 repeatedly right away until a screen pops up with 3 options. choose the option "restore factory settings" or whatever its called and then type in yes. This is restore your eepc to the way it was when you first bought it. It will erase all your personal data, and changes, but it will give you your desktop back!!
