Had same problem, had to exchange modem and everything worked fine

This should be set up using a lan cable, installation cd and not wirelessly initially while being set up. you may need to check that the lan card adapter on your pc is set to obtain an ip address automatically in its tcp/ip properties. you should also be able to access the router through your web browser by typing 10.0.0.2 for quick start instructions click below http://www.zoom.com/documentation/adsl/5590_QuickStart_Eng.pdf
