Question about SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 Player
Try connecting it to another computer and see if it will recognize it as sansa or removable drive. if it does then download the sansa update software and install it. Make sure you disconnect the sansa and connect it when asked. This will update your sansa and add the Usb Mode. Try to connect it to your computer at home it should recognize.... link for update software (http://mp3support.sandisk.com/sansa/Installer/1082/SansaUpdaterInstall.exe) download to a flash drive much easier I used my friends labtop it worked USB 2.0

Your problem is not uncommon with many mp3 players, i am assuming your using Vista?
here is a link to Sansa that helps with this problem.
But before that I would try plugging your USB cord into a port on the back of the computer and preferably a usb 2.0 port.
If this doesn't get you connected right try this page for a solution.
