In Simplicity Serge Pro SW432, you need Hex L-wrench. In some machines u need just a screw driver

Couple drops of WD-40 might help to remove your needle.

1. Turn electrical power off.

2. Turn hand wheel towards you until the needle comes to its highest point.

3. Use the allen wrench to loosen the left or right needle clamp screw, and remove the needle.

4. Place the side of needle toward back of the machine and insert in needle clamp as far as it will go.

5. Retighten the screw.

Where to purchase pressure foot (same one that comes on machine when purchased

If you go to the Simplicity Homecare website and click on Accessories, that will take you to their e-store for parts. I broke an upper looper needle on my SW432 last Saturday, ordered on Wednesday, and already have the replacement!

Threading a serger

Always thread the lower looper first. Then the upper looper. Finish by threading the needles.
By the way, the lower looper is the one which is always below the needle plate and the upper one is the one which travels above the needle plate.

What are the proper settings for a serge pro

I have a Simplicity Pro model SW432.  The sewing sample that came with it had the following tension settings: Red 3.2 yellow 2 green 3.5 blue 2 The book gives illustrations about the different problems you might have.  Changing a tension a little and trying it for the partic. fabric you are using, is usually what a person ends up doing.
