Can't find driver for sound card

I wiped my computer and my sound card isn't working, so I look at it and it says Sound Blaster Live 5.1 Digital, but when I go to install the driver, I get an error that says my computer can't detect a sound blaster card.

-   From Control Panel --> Sounds and Audio Devices
It lists the Creative SB Audigy and says no driver is installed for this device so I'm thinking maybe I need a driver??

The reason I'm trying to get a driver is because I have no volume control and I cannot get any sounds from the system, web sites, cd player or anything and I'm not sure how to fix this as the troubleshooter doesn't cover this problem. I have two Star SP-120C multimedia speakers and I'm thinking they should be plugged into this sound card as there is no other place to put the cord and I assume this is where to plug it in. There is no other slots to plug a device with this type of connector?? Also this is a new computer and I am just getting to know what hardware/software is here.
Any help will be much appreciated.-   Babealicious

I am not able to record sounds with mic.

But I am able to hear the voice with speakers.

common problem, creative have stopped supporting the card and it isn't compatible with service pack 2. There are fixes which people have made though. Try searching for ctcomp.exe it can be a bit of a headache to fix though :(

you may need to go into the bios F2 or Del on boot up and in advanced cmos settings look for onboard sound and select dissable if you are refering to a seperate pci sound card.

Well, Philips doesn't have driver support for their sound cards, That being said, you are stuck with one driver you can only use, the CD that came with the sound card.

I have a Philips Sonic Edge 5.1 sound card myself.

Same exact problem, ill try going in bios and disabling my onboard sound card (which doesnt work anyways, which is why i plugged in my SB in the first place) i think thats what you meant right? why did i even type this. it said "click here if u have the same problem" so why do i need to type anything if i have the "SAME PROBLEM" anyways, thanks for the help.
